I agree that Barrera would have lost anyway. But i still think the fight should have been stopped way earlier, it was bull****, that doctor was either blind or somebody told him it had to go past 4.

Sure it wasn't a very impressive win. But a win is a win, cut or no cut. That's fate, destiny. Amir is young and sleek, although the old skin in Barrera got cut by accidental head clash. More often Marco will get cut or badly bruised because his skin tissues are not that supple anymore, hence I predicted an easy win for the young gun. I wish for Amir to call out JuanMa Marquez. I have faith in Amir to be a great boxer some day, specially now that he is under the tutelage of a great coach. I don’t believe his chin is that “icy”, Prescott did land a good solid hand that can knock anybody out….Comment

I dunno about that. Check his last fight. He hit his opponent with huge shots and the guy didn't get knocked out. Prescott is not as big a puncher as some people think.

Maybe some people do? I'm not sure. I think he would have lost on points, but there's always a danger of Khan being knocked out. He was wobbled and had to clinch.

Because of Khan's lack of fundamentals and the way he used to throw his chin into the punches that were coming his way, effectively doubling their force, it didn't need a mini-Foreman to knock him out back then, it only needed an accurate puncher who punches hard. Prescott is certainly that. In his last fight, he did repeatedly hurt Toledo, who has a far better defence than Khan used to have.
Khan's defence has improved dramatically in the last 6 months, and in 2-3 fights time, if he continues to improve under Roach, I think he could outbox Prescott. In about 5 fights time I think he'll be ready to face the elite of the division.Last edited by Dave Rado; 03-15-2009, 09:59 AM.Comment
