The fight will never happen, we all know why.

wrong. reread the post and the REASONING behind what I said. Look at my posts throughout the thread. I did not say because Cotto LOST to Tony he cant beat Floyd. I said he displayed serious flaws in his overall boxing ability including footwork, agility, handspeed and defense, that would make a Floyd matchup a sure loss.

He couldnt even outbox the slow, plodding Margarito, something Williams and Mosley were both able to do.
Fact is, he doesnt have the speed, agility, footwork or defense to hang with a fighter the caliber of Floyd.

By the way, any "styles make fights!" posts will be dismissed with a massive LOL, considering these posters are assuming Cotto is going to be agressive and try and bully Floyd, which is exactly what Floyd would want him to do, and he would pick him apart and stop him accordingly.
Baby Floyd would get hurt fighting Cotto, that's why he'll never do it.

Yea, but you're not taking into account multiple variables. First you of course Mosley just wasn't himself against Cotto...natural excuse.

Cotto had the footwork and boxing ability to hang with anyone in that fight.

He still had the same ability against Margarito, but Margarito's pressure broke him down. Floyd doesn't fight like that, so using Margarito as a gauge doesn't work when comparing styles because the only people we've seen give Cotto problems are the guys that **** with him...Floyd doesn't do that.

I would definitely favor Floyd over Cotto, but you're reasoning is unbelievably flawed.

            that's a good thing.

147 is now filled with exciting fights and great matchups.

if only floyd was as bold in taking a cotto fight as his **** army is in proclaiming his victories in fantasy fights.

            he should stay retired.

his return would give us nothing but boring fights and more threads from his fag army talking about his ****.

Floyd has displayed superior handspeed, footwork, defense, agility and ring generalship throughout his career in a fashion Cotto has not. Cotto does not have the skills at a high level, and it would be even more obvious in a fight with Mayweather than it was with Margarito.

I agree Cotto wouldn't beat Floyd but as T-97 said, your reasoning is ****.

I disagree. Floyd would not put the pressure on him that Margarito did. The fights would look totally different. Cotto's jab would give Floyd some problems.

It would probably take Floyd around 4 or 5 rounds to settle in, figure him out, and get comfortable.

We all know that Floyd is significantly more skilled than Cotto. No one is gonna argue against that. But Cotto is well rounded enough to give Floyd is toughest test out of the current group of fighters that could potentially fight him. He wouldn't just come straight forward throwing punches. That's not how Cotto fights. He'd use selective pressure, I think it'd be like a game of chess in there for a while. That is, until Floyd puts him in and keeps him in check.

Mayweather couldn't even stop an old DLH jab. He hardly beat an old DLH that Pac took apart, how could he ever beat a young prime lion like Cotto.

If you're so confident that he couldn't hang with Floyd, then why didn't Floyd fight him?? O that's right...HE'S RETIRED!!! IN HIS PRIME!!
