yesihavearm does make some good points...but even having all that, boxing will never die in spite as bad as it may look.
the backbone of boxing is just too strong for that to happen...to much history, epic fights, heros, etc...

Its so dead that in the past few years you have had Madison Square Garden and Staples Center set the record for their all time attendance. Also crowds of over 50,000 for Calzaghe fight, huge crowd for DLH V Forbes, 3 PPVs of a million or more, and a record in PPV sales for a under 147 lb fight(Marquez V Pacquaio). Nearly every day there is a boxing event somewhere in the world and almost every weekend there is around 10 countries holding events. I think you need to do some research before you spout off at the mouth like a ******. Alone boxing is on 4 U.S. networks and sometimes another with fox sports, would you mind telling me how many MMA gets on? Boxing is actually doing better due to MMA, now they don't run a monopoly and we have received cheaper fights so people can attend and more competitive fights. Thank you, come again.

P.S. don't use your girl friend as your measuring stick if boxing is popular. Her description for Geroge Foreman was "the grill guy." Not really the best source, eh?

Boxing isn't dead. If it was dead or dying, you'd be feeling it right now. We'd all be talking about the latest fight form Suriname or Macao at tape trading sites for which you would plop down 25 dollars for a really bad rip of the fight.

Boxing PR and Production, on the other hand, is dying. The promoters want to sell fights, but they damn well are too greedy and lazy to go out to that extra mile. I'm even willing to bet everyone here can jam pack an arena AND sell people on PPVs better then the promoters themselves.

In order to really get things really going for the sport of Boxing, you really ar going to have to lose a lot of deadweight. I don't see that happen anytime soon.

u just answered the whole thing boxing only started too do better after mma started booming, because it actually has competition.

and just because it has all these numbers that u spout out its actually mma that is pulling in the bigger ppv numbers.

I just went to UFC 94 with GSP vs BJ penn from beginning to end the whole crowd was going crazy even during the first fight of the night which wasnt even broadcasted and the stands were packed, unlike boxing where it doesnt get full until the main event

And about dela hoya people only show up because he is a big name but he's gone and im pretty sure no one is gonna really care if he fights again.

just accept the fact that only until recently Boxing started to put on somewhat better fights because mma was a big competition for them. I do wann see more great boxing action but this bull**** of paying 50 bucks for maybe 1 good fight is ridiculous and even hbo, showtime, and other networks dont always have good fights so why dish out all the extra money for a good fight every once in a while.

I'll give boxing promoters a little bit of props seeing as there trying to put better fights together within the past two years but more needs to be done, maybe a stacked card every once in a while, when have u ever seen a stacked boxing card um um um i dunno can u guys name any.

I do hear that MMA is on it's deathbed in Japan, shame because Pride is the reason I became a big MMA fan. Too bad once that org died so did my enthusiasm for the sport.
