First of all boxing is not "dying" and it will never die. There's almost over 200 years history behind boxing. You think all of a sudden because people aren't watching it (plus the MMA hype), the sport is going to be obsolete? It's not. Boxing is going nowhere. Of the two sports, boxing vs. MMA; MMA would surely be the first to go.

If anything, boxing is starting to pick up again. That's what all the analysts are saying. When economic times get hard, boxing becomes popular. I don't know why.
