I always at how the average Fat Yank on here always talks about how Hopkins's resume is supposedly "stellar" in comparison to Calzaghe's.

Don't get me wrong... Calzaghe's WAS mediocre, and Hopkins's was slightly better... but nowhere NEAR as much as the average Fat Yank likes to make out. While Fat Yanks on here talk about Calzaghe facing nine world champions and say stuff like "who has he eva fort, lamo?" (conveniently forgetting the Lacy hype of 2005) Hopkins gets credit for HOF comp like Antwun Echols, Howard Eastman and Robert Allen.

However, in order to get some insight into the world of this legendary boxer (who would piss on Marvin Hagler, right?) I've been reading his autobiography, where I gleaned some inside stories about his toughest fights:

Trinidad - p4p top 3 in the world, looked incredible against Joppy in previous fight at 160 but still technically moved up to fight Hopkins
Taylor (2x) - Taylor is a bigger middleweight than B-Hop and was undefeated
Tarver - Ring Light Heavyweight Champion, Hopkins moved up in weight
Wright - #2 p4p in the world but had to move up to fight Hopkins

Calzaghe's best win (other than slapping an old man around) is Kessler, which is not comparable to anything listed above. That is a huge disparity, so it is miles ahead of Calzaghe's resume. Miles

How long does Calzaghe plan to live off a win over Kessler, who I think I need to mention has accomplished NOTHING in boxing. You look at guys like Ortiz, Berto and even Kirkland last night and they honestly are not far behind Kessler if behind him at all. I liked Kessler when I first saw him and wanted to like him, but how can you like a guy that is irrelevant in boxing? He has literally done nothing with his career.

He beat Mundine who has also done nothing in boxing, Andrade who is exciting but not a good fighter, and Beyer, who is a Euro champ, so that's all you need to know about him.

Kessler is a very good fighter and would be great name on anyone's resume (especially taking his O)

i'm in full agreement with his achievements being greatly outweighed by his talent (kessler i'm talking about) but he's a good fighter and top scalp for the record, the proof is in the pudding

and then of course joe has the win over hopkins himself, which i know there is an element who dispute that win (myself included actually) but he deserves credit for it - more credit than B-Hop gets for the Taylor fights and even the Calzaghe fight due to the official W on his record
