But in this era, its gona be out of Mayweather, Pacquiao and Hopkins.
If we go by decades, then Floyd is the best fighter of this era

Manny never fought at Flyweight this decade and that is part of his greatness

In saying that, if Manny brutalises Ricky he surpasses Floyd as fighter of the decade

Well unbeatable to the point of a record 20 straight title defenses. So I guess hes as unbeatable as unbeatable can be in middleweight history.

And we can look back in history and see that if he wouldn't have fought Roy Jones, he would of been undefeated at middleweight until the age of 40. To me thats pretty much unbeatable. Not you?

        2. Henry Armstrong
        3. Muhammad Ali
        4. Roy Jones Jr
        5. Floyd Mayweather Jr
        6. Sugar Ray Leoanrd
        7. Bernard Hopkins
        8. Marvin Hagler
        9. Joe Louis
        10. Ezzard Charles

These fighters were the best of their decade

        ALi best fighter of 70's
ray leonard best fighter of 80's
roy jones jr best fighter of 90's
floyd mayweather jr best fighter of 00's

anybody who ranks a fighter who was the best of their decade below top ten is ******ed..and is doing that out of bias and hate.

That was one of the better up to date lists I've seen. I completely agree. Any fighter that is fighter of the decade deserves to be very close to the top. There are exceptions to everything but Roy Jones was fighter of the decade and the most unbeleivable boxer Ive ever seen. he deserves to be very close to the top.

        • Roy Jones= #1 ATG!!!! but this all depends on ones criteria for rating an ATG fighter. I grade Jones more on natural abilty than anything, of which he probably had more than anyone who ever put on a pair of gloves. As far as his lack luster resume especially in his days as lightheavy weight champion, well it's not really his fault that there were not very many good fighters in that weight class at that time.

Good list but I'd need some major convincing to see Ezzrd Charles being worthy of a place. Can think of several fighters i'd rank above him p4p, not saying he was a bad fighter but never top 10 atg

            • Roy, while with all his great athletic talent, only beat one truly great fighter who was in his prime at the time of the fight, James Toney. This greatly effects his position on the ATG list.

              • Talent wise he's top 10 for sure imo, looking at his resume though I'd pobably have him 10-20, he would've beat better competition if there had've been some on offer, other than the major ducking of Benn the other fights didn't happen because of both parties, not just Roy.

you ever stop to consider that some decades may have had fighters of a higher standard than others?

Jones never deserves to be above the likes of Harry Greb, Benny Leonard, Willie Pep, Roberto Duran, Sam Langford etc. etc.

                    • Why decades? Why not start with GOAT in each weight of the original eight classes given their stature and depth...because if you do then Jones doesn't sniff a serious top ten. Neither does Floyd. Not trying to disparage them but their resumes pale in comparison to a guy like Tony Canzoneri who doesn't even rate as the GOAT in a class. And no, I'm not talking about having a million fights. I'm talking about beating most of best fighters of a great era from 118 to 147. Floyd and Roy fall short, in the last twenty years, Pernell Whitaker who is more deserving of top ten consideration than either.
