Well said mate, people actually think that Hatton will be pound for pound #1 just from beating Pacquiao... yeah Pacman is the pound for pound king but it doesn't work like that, I like to use the Jones example as well and the other one was good too.

Good post, spot on... people need to realize the pound for pound system don't work like that (no offense intended).

You have got to be kidding right?

Ill say it again. If you cant compete 1 weight class up from your natural weight then there is no way you should be claiming p4p. End of story.

A better fighter at 140 perhaps, but depending on how close the fight is he may not necessarily be better p4p.

LOL!! Hatton is one of the greatest at the moment. I like Hatton as much as the next fan, but I don't consider him one of the geatest currently. There are so many other fighters who have made their prescence felt in a variety of weight classes pulling wins over top competition. Hatton is solely the best at 140 currently. The top two ranked fighters FYI are Pacman and JMM.

165lbs is something to worry about

I hope it's not true that Ricky Hatton is that heavy at this time and that will give his fans the chance to use the same excuses as with ODLH. I hope Ricky will take care of himself and be 100% percent ready during the fight. So at least who ever wins will get 100% credit.

Completly agree. All the other boxers in the P4P ranking have moved up at least 1 weight class and have fought top opposition along the way. Hatton has moved up twice to win a disputed match against Collazo and get KTFO by Mayweather who started his career at 130 and was probably the smallest WW he could have faced.

being a top p4p fighter has NOTHING 2 do with how many weightclasses u fight in
