thats true, black American fighters dont have a huge, loyal following usually. we need to stir up some racism, thatll make people interested.

the next guy that fights Mayweather should come out to this song.

Floyd has always been mad about not having endorsements and he says he is a self made millionaire.Amir Khan has a contract with Reebok.Pacman should be involved with Nike.Spinks might be but would love to hear if any black boxers have endorsements.

Floyd lost all chances of endorsements when he deemed 12 million a slave contract and later on accused HBO's commentaters of being racist with no proof to back that allegation. Why would any corporate mogul come calling on someone with such negativity?

Those allegations came in very late in his career.Floyd was a champion within two years of turning pro.His fight game has always been dominant winning almost all the rounds he fought.

Did Shane Mosley have endorsements before the drug scandal?

His slave wages comment came just as he was getting popular, and his greatness in the ring is irrellevant. Major companies are very image conscious. Like it or not, Floyds image doesn't fly with the majority of people in this country, the consumers of these major products. Its his arrogance and attitude. Companies want people that EVERYBODY can look up to or relate to. Floyd isn't that guy.

This thread is actually kind of ridiculous. All of the name black fighters are name fighters because they have a following.

That isnt it at all, many atheletes in this country act like floyd if not worse and still manage to hang onto endorsements. Companies want to make money, do you think plaxico burress lost any endorsements? How about A-Rod? Kobe still has nearly as many as he did in 2003. The only time companies care to drop an endorsement is when alot of attention is spotlighted on one athelete and even then sometimes they STILL stick with them if they know they still have a marketable image.

The reason why black fighters dont have a following is because black people generally excel at a high level in more than one sport. The market share for top black athletes is very large, from football, to baseball and to basketball, there are a large number of top atheletes. For everyone else, its not like that. The top mexican, filipino, eastern european etc atheletes in each sport is nowhere near what black people experience in terms of success in sports in AMERICA.

This makes no sense to me. Floyd was the creme de la creme of boxing, p4p best and one of its most visable people. Why are lesser known athletes, black or not, getting endorsements ahead of him? Its all about appearence and attitude. Floyds is all wrong for corporate America.

Tons of reasons why black fighters don't have solid/built in fan bases! Look at P-Williams,A Ward,A Berto,J Kirkland,C Dawson these guys are all young explosive fighters yet they can't draw unless they were to have a big name or play the bad guy.

The biggest reason is the lack of mainstream coverage and the best fighters fight on premium cable. Back in the day Ali,Foreman,Leonard,Hagler,Hearns were on Magazine covers, commercials and could be viewed on regular network T.V. Nowadays young black kids aren't exposed to these fighters meaning they don't even know who the hell these guys are. Alot of poor blacks don't have access to HBO,SHOWTIME or PPV's so they see the NFL and NBA on network T.V. being completely shut out from Boxing. It's sad but it reality
