What he said! I wonder if Floyd is smoking crack, or the wacky weed?

I completely disagree, Floyd is worth 20 million because nobody plays a bad guy roll like him. Everybody wants to be the good guy, but when 2 good guys fight where is the drama? Drama during the buildup is what really sells fights to the general public.

Good vs Bad sells a lot better then Good vs Good.

He is not a national hero, but you do not need to be that to be good at selling PPV fights.

The problem is that neither of our theories will ever get proven till he actually fights guys like Cotto and Shane who are both considered good guys with average fan bases. Me and you both know that this will never happen so all were left with is what if which is one of the biggest reason why i find floyd completely unintresting. To many what if'sin his career for me to really take any major intrest.

He did leave a lot of what if's, and he certainly could have done more. I have never denied either. He is not the only fighter to leave a lot of what if's out there, although he is one of the few that did it of his own free will.

I remember him from the Olympics, and watched him grow up in the ring. I had my fill of him pretty much (I enjoyed his 10 year run), if he wants to fight again I would love to see it, if not well it is his life to do with as he sees fit, I already made my bones ******** on him.

You can live in some fantasy world where money does not play a factor, but in the real world where I watch boxing I like to understand why things take place.
Understanding and condoning/defending these types of actions are two different things. I understand why certain fighters do it, but i in now way will defend actions such as. According to the poster i was debating this with, he's ok with Floyd fighting the limted journeyman Baldomir over Cotto or Shane, because Floyd was bound to make more money fighting Baldomir. Now how can u call yourself a fan of the sport, if you're more interested in watching your favorite fighter in the ring with a bum for more money, rather than watching him up against top competition for a bit less? I mean, at this point, why even watch boxing???

            • Who cares

If he wants to stay retired, let him. He was one of the best but boxing can go on without him.

For that, dont even be a fan of the sport if you're not interested in seeing the best fight the best.
That applies just as much to all the fans who have been condoning Pavlik fighting Duddy rather than Abraham, who were recently condoning Taylor fighting Green rather than Froch (before the Froch fight was resuscitated); who were condoning Pacquiao threatening to pull out of the Hatton fight if he didn't get at least 55%; who were condoning Mosley ignoring Williams and Clottey because they "don't bring anything to the table"; and the list goes on - in other words, it applies to the fans of pretty well every fighter, it's not unique to Mayweather fans.

                  • Hold up! You guys are on here trying to crusify a man for expressing his respect for PBF and his skills and you guys are bashing him and calling him names like this $#!t is 2nd grade Gym period. How can you call a man a nut hugger when all you Floyd Haters do is mention the word "Gayweather" "Nuthugging" & "I would put my left nut on it"?

come on man that sounds SUSPECT to say the least. The only thing I can see from Larry is that he is trying to instill facts and his opinion on how he looks at the Career of PBF but all you guys do is call names and try to down grade the man? That's not boxing talk. Using the word "Hypocrite" on this website is generous considering the type of posts I read from Cotto', Pacquiao's, Margarito's fans.

My point is if a guy wants to defend his favorite fighter fine but don't try to fry a guy for it because every boxer/fighter has their pro's & cons, right or wrongs. this PBF thing is over drawn especially from guys like Mosley & Arum? These guys talk **** about PBF but then offer him $ to fight that clearly he is worth more than? To me that Shows Mosley don't want it. Freddie Roach? I heard him say that he would want to get PBF at a catch weight to give Pacquiao an advantage?

Bob Arum has said the longer PBF stays in retirement the better in regards to him coming back to fight Pacquiao? These guys KNOW that PBF would MOPPED the floor with Manny so much that they want a handicap? Cotto wasn't ready for PBF at 140 when PBF wanted him THAT'S FACTS, Mosley didn't want it with PBF TWICE. Floyd even said "Jyn don't want him to fight me" THAT'S FACTS. PBF scared of Margarito? That guy was/is an OVERRATED CHEATER that PBF told keep working and getting your stats up and we'll fight & "IT WILL BE GREATER LATER" THAT'S FACTS! How is PBF scared of these guys? I don't get it. If they want to fight then PAY HIM or SHUT THE F*** UP!

When Ali and Frazier first tangled, Ali only got $1 million. Times have changed, buddy. There's something called inflation, plus PPV is much more a factor nowadays.
