That said it is Roach's job to be concerned with what the opponent can do, if a fighter thinks he can not be beat ok a fighter should be confident, a trainer should be gaurding against over confidence (imo, keeping a fighter confident is great but over confidence can be a killer in the ring) .

A trainer thinking his fighter can not be beat, is a trainer who could possibly make mistakes. Then there is always the question of, what if his body punching and rough housing works, if you train thinking there is no chance for it to work I would think it would be hard to come up with a counter plan on the fly.
Roach didn't get where he is today by underestimating his opponents or by failing to come up with a plan B when necessary. Take no notice of what he says to hype the fight. Mayweather Snr. is saying Hatton will KO Pac in one round, but everyone knows he doesn't really expect that to happen. It's just to sell tickets.

Haha yeah. He said Bernard was finished, could not pull the trigger, and that it was dangerous for him to fight again. He thought that there was no way Hopkins could win and was "scared for his friend". So like I said, Roach just likes to talk.

I'm sure there are some guys there that would put Manny on his ass. On top of that both his fights with JMM are questionable (Not saying I think so) but damn! Manny had two times to put this much older guy he knocked down a total of 4 times out of there and still made it questionable wins?

Come on guys! I like Manny too but clearly everyone with an opinion opposite to "Manny is the greatest" is not wrong but just very observant and sees the big picture. Not saying Manny couldn't beat a lot of guys bigger and stronger than him but he hasn't and struggled with a game older one at 130 2x. I want to see more of him dominating before I crown this guy because realistically I feel 140 is going to eat him alive.
You're quoting boxingguitarfan in that way? He's incredibly biased and is whining and sore because his favourite fighter lost and he hasn't got over it. I'm all for unbiased serious analysis of both fighters' strengths and weaknesses, but not biased rants, and biased rants is all we've had so far from boxingguitarfan.

Whats so funny? he HASN'T been tested at 135+

Anyone but a total nuthugger or casual fan knows that.

Diaz is a journeyman, he only got the fight because they wanted to give Morales and easy belt.

            Oscar was totally shot.

I don't side with anyone in particular because I don't know people on here personally I just can see what he said and in some ways it makes sense about Manny Pacquiao. I didn't even know he had an issue with Pac beating JMM? I'm just discussion boxing.
