I favor Manny to win mostly because I believe he can turn Hatton's face into something that resembles meatloaf. That said it is Roach's job to be concerned with what the opponent can do, if a fighter thinks he can not be beat ok a fighter should be confident, a trainer should be gaurding against over confidence (imo, keeping a fighter confident is great but over confidence can be a killer in the ring) .

A trainer thinking his fighter can not be beat, is a trainer who could possibly make mistakes. Then there is always the question of, what if his body punching and rough housing works, if you train thinking there is no chance for it to work I would think it would be hard to come up with a counter plan on the fly.

FINALLY somebody with some real input and not just "Oh Pacquiao destroys Hatton because he's the better boxer" Or "Pacquiao would beat Cotto" or "Pacquiao would beat Godzilla, King Kong and the Clover Field Monster" I think Manny Pacquiao is a very entertaining, tough, fast, aggressive fighter but he didn't even stay at 135 long enough to get really tested. I'm sure there are some guys there that would put Manny on his ass. On top of that both his fights with JMM are questionable (Not saying I think so) but damn! Manny had two times to put this much older guy he knocked down a total of 4 times out of there and still made it questionable wins?

Come on guys! I like Manny too but clearly everyone with an opinion opposite to "Manny is the greatest" is not wrong but just very observant and sees the big picture. Not saying Manny couldn't beat a lot of guys bigger and stronger than him but he hasn't and struggled with a game older one at 130 2x. I want to see more of him dominating before I crown this guy because realistically I feel 140 is going to eat him alive.

Pacquiao's performance in that fight was fabulous, and it undoubtedly had a lot to do with why Oscar looked so bad, but anyone who thinks that nothing went wrong with Oscar's training, or who thinks that he didn't age at all over the previous year is simply delusional.

Roach - Pacquiao's trainer - said repeatedly that Oscar had shown in the Forbes fight that he can't pull the trigger any more. Against Forbes, Oscar's face was busted up by a feather-fisted puncher, and although he won easily, he did not look anything like the great fighter he had once been.

And why would Oscar intentionally come in to the fight with Manny lighter than Pacquiao, when his biggest advantage was supposed to be his size and his power? He only managed to put on 2lbs between the weigh-on and the fight, whereas he was expected to put on around 15lb. That is NOT an excuse for Oscar - if his training went wrong in some way, that is nobody's fault but Oscar's; and if he fought at too low a weight for his frame, at his age, he signed the contract at that weight, no one forced him to sign it, and that is also nobody's fault but his own. But when judging Pacquiao's performance in terms of how he would perform against other 140lb+ fighters, you have to take all factors into account.

Pacquiao was superb in that fight, but he was not fighting anywhere near a prime De La Hoya. Again, in responding to biased posts, you are showing as much bias as they are in the opposite direction.

i think pacquiao vs hatton will more or less likely play out like any of the two pryor vs arguello in the past wherein the 140 mainstay who is stronger and naturally bigger (pryor/hatton) will be too much for the one coming up in weight (arguello/pacquiao)... but pacquiao looks very sharp and fast lately... he is no P4P numero uno for nothing... i hope pacquiao proves me wrong...

pac vs hatton is a very tough call they dont share a common opponent, which adds to the intrigue,if pac doesnt blast out hatton early then hatton i think has the edge, mayweather has a better chin than pacya if pac gets caught flush with any regularity he could be in trouble.pacs best chance and weapon is speed.

Don't so ******! Are you saying that because Wlad Klitschko is the no. 1 rated Heavyweight at the moment, that implies he's automatically as good as Ali and Louis? Get real.

Every boxing expert in the world currently rates Pacquiao as the no. 1 P4P fighter whether you like it or not, but that says absolutely nothing about how he'd fare in the all time P4P lists, it just relates to his ranking compared with other CURRENT fighters.

Hilarious. Roach also said he "watched 20 Fedor fights" and that if Fedor fought Arlovski "like a man" it would be a short night. 3 minutes later, Arlovski was flat on his face.

i just enjoy discussing boxing... anyway if u remove pacquiao from marquez's resume, what you will be left out will be a shot barrera, and a 37 y/o casamayor who should have lost to sta cruz in the first place... all of the rest like medina and gainer are 2nd tier at best...

but thats not the thing... JMM is a great fighter who was avoided by the elites just like paul williams is right now... i hope he can still hang around much longer...
