You guys really make me laugh. How can a fighter get injured 3 times.
Twice actually. And he tried to reschedule but Johnson said he wasnt interested anymore and landed a fight with Jones. The rest is history.

Calzaghe rescheduled the fight again but Johnson unexpectedly lost to Clinton Woods

How can a fighter get injured 3 times? Well ****, thats a scientific impossibility isnt it? I mean they only work out intensely for weeks and get punched in the head a lot...........god only knows!

Just contradicted yourself here buddy. Hopkins does the same and its ducking, Calzaghe does it and its not?

      Really makes sense.

You really do have comprehension difficulties.

I suppose you can break down Hopkins paydays one by one with written evidence like you asked me for before.

Yeah......didnt think so. You are a continual laughing stock on this thread.

Calzaghe was never offered any price to fight Jones. So no, its not really the same at all.

            Do you ever make sense?

Yeh, because everyone who has half a brain cell knows that the Trinidad fight got Hopkins over $6 million.

Please just stick to watching British fighters as your knowldge is severly limited.

It was twice. Putting three times in bold doesnt make it a fact. Good try though.

He got injured before, during and after several fights including the Lacy fight and almost pulled out of that one too.

Maybe you're right, or maybe Joe didn't fancy it? Joe didn't clarify what he meant by the 'Crown ***els' comment. So we'll never know really.

To be fair, Roy never talked about Joe much at all.

I'm sticking with my Frank Warren theory though.

fact is, elite fighters in general these days have weaker resumes in comparison to the old timers..... Politics, money, over-adundance of weight classes and titles etc. has made it infeasible to expect fighters to be retiring with Ray Robinson-esque records
Maybe Roy isn't the greatest example but remember Roy fought and beat James Toney and Bernard Hopkins. It's just an example though.

You're right fighters generally do have weaker resumes nowadays, but the way people talk about Calzaghe is like he was some dominating force who no one even wanted to fight. Let's just face the facts, Joe Calzaghe was a great fighter who did not fight the fights that would make him an ATG. And if he is an ATG, he's on the bottom of that list. This whole "Calzaghe is the GOAT" crap I hear makes me think his fans never watched any other fighter.
