When did Cotto say he wanted Mayweather??
Merchant:
"Are you willing to fight Mayweather.?"
Cotto:
"I fights who my peoples tells me to fights"
Kellerman:
"Will you fight Floyd Mayweather?"
Cotto:
"My peoples tells me to who to fights.."
Kellerman:
(Looking at the camera)
"Well at least I tried"
LOL
Just admit it..
Cotto saw what happed to Hatton and kept his trap shut.
It was COTTO that wanted no parts of Floyd..not at 140 or 147
Arum's 8 million offer included Cotto and Hatton for 7 each..
Floyd wanted 10 million for Cotto and Hatton but Arum said he was delirious.
Mayweather went on to make over 60 million against Hatton..making Arum look like a fool in the proccess.
Do you really think Tony was worth 8 million at the time of the alleged offer while Cotto and Hatton were only worth 7??
C'mon now
Tony was NEVER worth more than Cotto..let alone HATTON.Comment

I actually think the exact opposite. I think Floyd's hand speed is tremendously underrated nowdays. Now I think anyone with half a brain should know that his hand speed was crazy at the lower weights. If you dispute that or think alot of guys are clos then you are insane. However, I think his hand speed is still alot better at the higher weights the people give him credit for and I talk about this alot. I say that he only looks alot slower or not that fast because he's fighting bigger guys which makes him only throw one punch at a time or pot shot while at the same time he's fighting at a measuered pace.
You get what Im saying? You would still think he was super fast if he was fighting uptempo and throwing a whole bunch of punches but he hasnt fought that way against the bigger guys so it makes him look slow. Everyone keeps talking about 130 & 135 but even look at his fights at 140 with Chop & Gatti. He was super fast then and most of all, he was super aggressive. Now he doesnt use that same style at WW so it makes him look slower. Ofcourse he's not going to be as fast as a 30yo WW compared to what he was as a 22yo Jr. LW but he's still really fast. You just cant tell as much because of his style but let him fight smaller guys, or go down to 140, or even fight bigger guys who cant push him around like Clottey and I bet you will see some blazing hand speed again.Comment

That was an entertaining read. I have heard Cotto say he wanted to fight Mayweather before. Cotto did not duck Mayweather. Regardless, Floyd will not fight him. I'm sure he can make more money fighting Pac or Hatton again if he decides to come out of retirement. Too bad, Mayweather would have boxed circles around Cotto IMO.
It's easy to tell some Latino TV show or magazine he wanted Floyd...
But..
When those HBO cameras were in his face HE NUTTED-UP in front of MILLIONS.
Max clowned him a little too by saying something like.."Well I tried.."Comment
