Ok once i get to benching 225 i am going into full boxing triaining....

      But with weight lifting you can increase you power and explosive energy too, if you do it the right way. If you do it wrong or to much weight lifting it makes you slow though.

        have you ever heard the expression that its the one you don't see that hurts if you lift to much weights your punches are easy to see and counter for me when i spar people bigger than me its fun beacause you see all there punches coming and there easy to counter or just roll with

          Bench Press is really useful. For increasing your ability at bench pressing.

          Waste of time for boxing though.

            well see i wasn't going to bench press for power i just have a bet with my neighbor on racing to 225 and i cant be a full time weightlifter and boxer so i was going to do that first but is there any actual routine that i can use that is used by people

                being strong gives you power... i dont know what these guys are talking about as long as you punch correctly you will have harder punching power, you should improve other things instead of just your bench though.

                When you say boxing workouts do you mean sparring, bag drills, pads and jump roping or are you looking for weight lifting workouts for boxing?

                    yes i mean you know bag drills and stuff like that but weight lifting is going to have to go in there somewhere so i don't lose all muscle
