I remember reading reports b4 the fight that his elbow was injured but the fight would still go on and if you listen to him in post fight conference he sounds very congested. Still if he was 100% Hopkins should have won because of styles but it wouldn't have been a shutout maybe 9-3.

What's more likely: Making a bunch of excuses after BADLY losing that ruins your reputation (See: Damage Control) or not admitting an injury so your opponent wouldn't have an advantage? A story came up for them to take advantage of. They also used the weight excuse, which I don't believe at all. It's one thing about making excuses directly after the fight because you are still in shock. It's another thing if you still do it 3 months after the fight.

Bernard hasn't made excuses as badly as Kelly has. Bernard has been bitchy in defeat, I realize this. Especially saying **** the American cancer society, but he still never claimed he had an injury and stuff.

Kelly and his camp get no respect from me for still making excuses after losing badly. I even give Winky Wright more credit even though he's still bitching about the decision, he at least did different and I can understand why he thought he won (which is still wrong imo.)

You do realize that Kelly had his nose bleeding during the fight right? Maybe that had something to do with it.

who really cares? it's so trivial it's not even worth caring about. an excuse is an excuse. plain, and simple. hate on him all you want, but it means nothing. he took his asswhoopin, finished the fight, and now must prove his worth. it is what it is.

I would have liked to see a young fighter who was known to be very classy before fights to have retained that class afterwards. I don't hate Kelly, but my view on him kind of went down. I'm not gonna lie.

I really agree about your last point though.

He was outboxed, as far as I'm concerned. The judges scored it for Pavlik's aggression though, and of course because they didn't want to cut the hype short for their new hero. He makes them money.

I always maintained that Taylor should have won that fight.

Damn, when I had bronchitis I was coughng up nasty stuff for ages. Pavlik looked fine to me.

This is really simple man, he was completely and utterly outclassed.

I thought Kelly won it, but Taylor's movement nor defense are anywhere near good as Bernard's.

I prefer JT over Kelly and I've scored the fight a few times and I just can't see it. Each to his own though.
