After all's said and done, and despite saying he's one-dimensional, I still have a lot of time for Kelly. He's a good kid and he deserves to do well. Looking forward to his next fight very much and it'll be great to see him winning again, regardless of the level of competition.

Give Bhop his props. I never believed he'd be KO'd, but I thought he'd get outworked by the younger guy. I woulda said Kelly was lethargic if he looked tired early, but he never came off like he wasn't in shape and just fattened up to 170 not takin Bhop seriously. His body language showed he wanted to fight, but Bhop wouldn't let him. He was always settin pressure wit his feet in terms of movin in, but wit his hands he wasn't lettin go. Bhop just made him look bad imo.

I think the world has yet to see the best of pavlik... He went to the school of hard knocks that night with no other then The Executioner.

I believe he is going to come back more well rounded, and is going to be ever more dangerous then he already was. I think people forget what he did to Jermain Taylor, who was an undefeated champion. I think people forget that Pavlik when down, dug deep and ended up finishing a very strong fighter in Jermain.
Being undefeated cant last forever, Pavlik will only better himself and adjust his game after that loss.
Pavlik will reign supreme at 160 this year, and it starts with a TKO this saturday..
        RIP RUBIO

I rate it an A. I mean bhop wasnt supposed to win. Alot of people thought that pavlik was going to KO hops. I wasnt ruling it out either. I mean yea he was blown up at 170 but my thing is if you are picked to possibly get KOed and than out box and out class a fighter like pavlik that says somthing. Another poster said that bhop was at diffrent angles and confusing pavlik to do that and do it for 12 rounds like bhop did that deserves an A to me

I hope this is true. And I hope he's smart enough to get a new trainer. IMO this guy will not take pavlik to the next level.

[QUOTE=hammerhiem;4766392]very high, he's 43 and that was one of the most complete distructions of a legitimate champion i've seen in a long long time, Pavlik may have flaws but you have to expose the flaws they don't expose themselves.[/QUOTE

              Best response yet!

The footwork side to side movement gave Pavlik the fits. He couldn't get in range to throw combinations nor could he find him with the jab one two. If he did find his way into range, Hopkins would be to slick and slippery for Pavlik to catch him. Bernard also overwhelmed him with combinations and counters. The weight had nothing to do with it.

Also I'm not to sure if Mayweather could beat Pavlik. I'm not sure if Mayweather could retain the speed to beat Pavlik. He would have to throw combinations, something Mayweather hasn't done in a while, and he wouldn't have the power to keep Pavlik off him. Jabbing Pavlik to the stomach might have some sucess, but I think it'd just be a matter of time until Pavlik catches him.

kelly is my boy, and i was crushed that he was humilliated so badly, but on the other side it was a great win for bhop who i also love. overall i think it was the best thing that could have happened to kelly. humbled early, and now he knows what he has to do. he may be limited, but he has so much heart it will take him far so long as he learns from his mistakes, and trains as hard as he always has prior.

imo Hopkins performs well has the underdog.

Pavlik, like Tarver and Trinidad was expected to end Hopkins career, and by a KO. He probably believed it himself, which is why he did not know what was going on

imo, whichever weight, he would have got schooled

He didnt fight the best of Kelly pavlik that night thats for sure. sure hopkins can take partial credit for that, but not complete.
