He'll beat most decent fighters but you know as well as everyone else on here he is not on the same level as the top elites like hopkins, roy jones or calzaghe. That's not any disrespect to pavlik, cuz I'm a fan of his, it's just reality. He is not on the same level.

it is very impressive to me.

before wright and pavlik lost to hopkins, i always thought to myself; "how the hell do you beat winky and his shell?" also, with pavlik "how the hell do u beat this punching machine?"

well, mr. hopkins answered those 2 questions for me.

although hopkins had a much harder time with Winky, you can't forget that Winky is no joke.

      Winky > Pavlik

the way hopkins/pavlik played out, was how i expected it to be, had hopkins been in his prime. but he still did it.

Pavlik is a tough, solid guy but he is far from being a great fighter. He basically caught a MW champ at the right time. He is probably the best 160 pounder around today but that is simply because the division is woeful.

For instance, ask yourself how Pavlik would have done against Michael Nunn or Mike McCallum.

haha, that's funny cuz I made a thread about that, I believe prior to the hopkins fight, saying the same thing- if floyd brings his A-game, he could out-box pavlik.

Anyone else think Pavlik has gotten pretty far on his size alone? Dude is what, 6'2"? Pretty big for a middleweight. His size and reach must be kinda imposing to many opponents.

Although to be fair he could have wiped him out in two rounds.
i thought jt won the second fight.....

That's completely feasible, reed. If they were to fight tomorrow, my money would be on Floyd. Absolutely no question about it.

I think that's a big part of his armoury.

Bad example because he's ****, but Gary Lockett looked about 3 weight classes too small for Pavlik.
