footwork is the undoing of kelly pavlik, i always said that, go find my old posts.

i said both calzaghe and hopkins would whoop him!

the extra weight defenitly hurt pavlik. Also pavlik was sick the week of the fight, that defenitly didnt help. if the fight was at 160, granted hopkins can not get down to that weight anymore, it would be a whole different fight. im not saying pavlik would win, but it would be alot closer imo.

I still don't know how Jermain Taylor couldn't beat him, he done very badly against Pavlik - twice.

Although to be fair he could have wiped him out in two rounds.
        And should have.

People tend to forget that. Taylor should have had Pavlik out of there. Where would Pavlik be now if Jermain had actually managed to close it out?

Pavlik struggled with the weight i dont care, if people say im taking from Nard's victory, at the end of the day Pavlik was not throwing punches and its not just, because Hopkins was giving him angles etc, it was to do with him making the 175lbs limit imo.

At ANY weight class bhop whoops pavlik. Hopkins is not a good matchup for kelly at all.

It was at a catchweight of 170, not 175. 4 pounds heavier than he fought Taylor at.

I still dont buy the fact he was completely fit in that fight.

Im not saying Kelly would of won regardless, but he would of made more of a contest of it.

Very good win, when all things are considered, Hopkins' age especially. However, it is one that I expected, as I specifically remember posting something like "I think it's very possible that Hopkins schools Pavlik in this fight, he is completely one-dimensional and Bernard is too experienced and smart." In fact, in one post I remember getting quite angry at those saying Pavlik was gonna KO Hopkins. LOL. It's a passionate sport.

Yeah, great win. Possibly one of his best.

I became absolutely sure Bernard would win during the weigh-in. If you get to check it out again, someone shouts something from the crowd (I guess maybe a Pavlik fan saying he was gonna get beaten or something). Bernard's one word reply: "watch". Somehow it became obvious at that point.

I don't think so. Pavlik looked the same as Tarver or Trinidad. When hopkins is successful at taking away these types of fighters best (or in some cases only) weapons, they are made to look like ****. I'm telling you, watch old pavlik fights. He has to set up his shots with his jab, if that's taken away he doesn't know what to do. Hopkins' footwork and lateral movement also confused the hell out of pavlik.

I keep hearing one dimensional, and all he has is a 1,2.... how good of a fighter IS pavlik? and at 170 pounds to boot?
