I suppose if Larsen fight falls through, they can throw him some mandatories in Germany or wherever and let the clock tick out.

I don't know if it's the date or number of fights that is most important in this for the terms of the contract to be satisfied.

I would think one would supercede the other.

Maybe Palle is just trying to hit the home run with Larsen, and if he doesn't, I don't have a ton of faith he will get a good contender either.

    Let's hope so.
Kessler has stated publicly that he hopes the last fight for Palle is Larsen. I hope he gets his wish.

If the Larsen fight falls trough expect to see him against his mandatory which is the dangerous highly touted superstar Gusmyl Perdomo (or something like that).

In Denmark the german Sauerland stable is heavyli rumoured to be tampering with Kessler. Even the Jesper D. Jensen, president of the danish proboxing association, has confirmed the contact.

People complain that he isn't fighting anyone, but they appear not to understand that there are politics involved here. It's not so simple as "he isn't fighting the big fights, therefore he's a nobody", like some people suggest. By the sound of it, MK is being severely limited by Palle, I guess because Palle he wants to protect his cash cow and will not put him in risky fights. Kessler doesn't want this, hence the reason he's trying to escape from the contract -- so he can fight the best and prove to everyone that he's a very good fighter who deserves to be taken seriously.

If you can understand this, then there's no reason to knock Kessler.
Palle is litterally at the end of the road. Every time he gets a fight card assembled he gets hospitalized with a heart attack. The guy is 73 so it's okay for him to throw in the towel and end his HOF-career I guess. I hope he realizes that himself sooner rather than later.

im a big fan of kess but every now and again i think is there more to him and his not being able to land big fights than what meets the eye. hes tried to make fights with dwson and hopkins at 170 i can see why they'd say no, calzaghe has flatly refused a rematch, taylor doesn't want the fight until kess is the final option but what about johnson.

im sure i heard that kess tried to make the fight with him at 170, johnson has also come out and said he wants to fight at 170 so why isn't that fight getting made? i mean johnson is willing to go down 5 pounds and kess only has to come up 2 pounds!! whats more kess only has to keep his current training regime and just weigh in hydrated and that way he'll still be able make 168 for his mandatories and unifcation fights.

if the fight with larsen doesn't get made i hope he looks to take on froch. froch is another fighter who seems willing to take on the best like johnson. with taylor looking for other fights it could free froch up for a big unification fight with kessler.

bottom line kess needs one fight against froch, taylor, johnson or another big name at the very least before the end of 09

Team Johnson offered Kessler a mere 500K USD gross for a fight at 170 lbs. Compare that to 2 million and a chance to give his danish countrymen what they've wanted for the past 6 years in front of 30-40,000 ppl.

Add to that the fact that Larsen on paper is a lot less dangerous than Johnson and consider also that a Larsen fight will be worth a lot less if either Kessler or Larsen loses before they meet.

Allan Green, Balszay, Inkin, Bika do not have fights lined up make it happen with one of them.

damn i didn't realize that kess was offered so little, how much does he stand to make if a fight wih larsen is secured

i can see why they want the fight being made asap as well, larsen is a good fighter but imo if he faces off agsinst someone like bute or even jean pascal he mght lose, then it would be really hard to sell the kess - larsen fight.

thanks for that battheman didn't know the ins and outs of kess and johnson

I believe Balsay has a voluntary defense lined up.

Inkin just lost his title and needs to rebuild.

Bika is Kessler's former sparring partner and said that Kessler's in a class of his own.

Maybe Green, but will it sell at all?
