The proposed all-danish clash between Mads Larsen and Mikkel Kessler for Kessler's WBA 168 lb belt is in serious trouble.
Kessler's promoter Palle had sent a take-it-or-leave-it offer to Larsen promotor Sauerland. Sauerland was given till Friday to respond. All Palle has been told is that managing director Chris Meyer was in Moscow, and couldn't respond to Palle's offer.
"We have been so far apart in the negotiations so far that we've started looking for another opponent for Kessler", Palle says to danish tabloid Ekstarbladet. "Kessler's contract with us expires in february 2010 and we must give him 3 fights as our obligation. We honour our contracts."
