I believe you are right.it is potato.speaking of potatoes...I think mr.potato head could beat john duddy.duddy has about as much of a chance of beating pavlik as James toney has of passing up a buffet.

It's funny that Arum's looking past Duddy's fight with Matt Vanda because this guy could easily pull the upset. Vanda's the more experienced and has stayed much busier than Duddy recently.

Edit: On second glance of Vanda's record it's considerably padded compared to Duddy's. Still, he's a tough journeyman who probably sees this fight as a huge opportunity for him..

The fans don't want this fight! We want unification! Sure this will sell tickets and would be a good tear up while it lasts, but Pavlik needs to start making statements again to regain his 'monster' credibility. Please get on the ball Kelly. Your dropping out of my top 5 swiftly.

Plus, is Duddy really that financially better than Abraham? I mean Arthur isn't as unknown as Bob makes out, he knocked out Miranda in brutal form in America on..was it HBO..I forget now but tv none the less. He then called out ODLH Pavlik and some other big names.

            Pretty shameful.

Abrahams entrances are awesome, it'd be a really good show and no excuses if promoted right it shouldn't sell out and do well all round.

Sometimes for the sake of choosing a slightly less bigger earner, you gotta make the fight that the sport needs and public wants, making in effect more fans and better earnings in the future.

Dud [pun intended] match ups like this harm the sport, and are one reason why boxing isn't as big as it once was. So in trying to earn more, some promoters often make less and harm themselves.

Examples being Kelly vs Hopkins, his stock fell because they chose him over other match ups that could have been made.

Osca wanted the lime light of beating p4p #1 and the biggest financial fight out there, taking most of the pot, he's ****ed now for shrinking so much.

Taylor is only interested in money and has gone on record saying as much.

            It's ****.

I know moneys a factor but it's getting so bad now the entire sport's climate is being dictated by it too much, and ultimately, ironically and ******ly earning itself less in the process.

I agree with you man. More importantly I think us fans have to step in. Bob arum is an old piece of #$%^ who is hurting the sport of boxing. If pavlik duddy happens it is the biggest joke ever and im ashamed of anyone who watches it. Ive seen duddy fight a couple times now and there is no way in hell he can beat one of the top ten in junior welter up. He is an awful fighter and I dont blame him that he has a fan base cause of his irish background but this is just ridiculous. It will be a sweet day when arum that **** sucker finally dies. **** you arum i hope you die knowing that you were ruining the sport you were involved in.

Duddy is a fairly big name in Ireland, and a fight against Pavlik in New York would attract huge interest from the big Irish community in that city. Either way, all roads need to lead to Abraham - Pavlik.

No disrespect to pavlik, cuz I know he'll fight anyone, but come on. this is a joke!
I agree. Arum is not letting Pavlik fight Abraham, because he's afraid his "cash cow" will lose.

                  I don't want to see Duddy-Pavlik, after Rubio-Pavlik and Lockett-Pavlik. I hate mismatches.

Pavlik-Abraham is one of the two or three best fights that can be made in boxing.

Many of you are saying Abraham is the best MW and can some how walk on water. Many of you question Pavlik's opponents and my question is who the hell has Arthur fought? AA's next opponent is rated at 33 by Boxrec and it is obvious that Pavlik has fought better fighters. It is also my humble opinion that even Sturm has faced better opposition.

The fight was on showtime here and was presented pretty well. The problem is that it really did'nt do any good for exposure and nobody knows Abraham is even though he is so good/great. It's injustice to say the least. I agree that the best need to keep facing the best regaurdless of attractive money options. If that happens eventually the biggest money will come and the promoters are not willing to hang their fighters records on the line in order to attampt to make that happen. The UFC understands this and practice it constantly. Boxing should be on notice. For the record, I do think Kelly will still beat Arthur in a very close fight. Bombs will be traded and the better man will win. It's power/chin vs. power/chin and I would love to see that fight.
