your right on with that Max. ppl will say that Cotto just cant comeback from that beating he took if Berto won. but really its about him fighting cupcakes before his big fights. hes going to fight a guy named Jennings, then fight Berto iwho is hella fast and has great power. thats kinda the reason I picked Margarito because Cotto had fought Gomez. you can be fighting cupcakes like that and just step up to the big dogs. we'll see hopefully....dont jack this up Arum!!

Interesting match-up worthy of our money. Cotto seems vulnerable enough to make it interesting. Let's see how Cotto looks before we get excited. If he looks shaky or struggles and still wins, I doubt Arum will throw him against any dangerous fighters. Right now I have to go with Cotto due to experience, level of competion and skillls.... case close.

I'd like to know why people think Andre Berto stands no chance here ? sure he is green and still needs a bit more experience. But i don't think its completely out of the question to think Andre Berto wins.

He has an excellent uppercut which is Miguel Cotto's biggest weakness, Andre Berto also has excellent stamina and can fight at a hard pace for 12 rounds. Miguel Cotto at times has faded down the stretch, against Shane Mosley, Lovemore N'dou.

This is probably the best opponent Miguel Cotto has ever fought except for Shane Mosley, that has as many good attributes as Andre Berto.

I bet that after cotto ****s Jennings in 3 rounds, they will change their mind very quickly!!!!!!!!!!!
actually Berto wanted to fight Mosley and Cotto for a while now. hes wants the big dogs. DiaBella already said the winner fights Collazo. while this happens Mosley-Clottey goes down for the other 2 straps. thing are looking good....

I think it would be a good fight but Cotto would wear Berto out with body work down the stretch. He could win by KO but I'd say he will just seriously out-box and out point Berto. I think Berto will have trouble with Cotto's speed and powerful jab. Great fight, I hope it happens, Cotto wins, fights Mosley (who will hopefully take Clottey's IBF title) to unify again. Then a fight with Floyd.

Cotto could be the undisputed welterweight champion of the world by early 2010.

He is not ready yet, for the elite of the division. He beated Miguel Rodiguez for that belt. that tells you how much he have improve, beating a guy like rodriguez for a Belt. And he lost to Collazo who is a solid fighter, but not at the level of Cotto,Clottey and Mosley!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kinda funny though how they backed out of the Mosley fight after the Collazo fight...

Berto would have a lot of trouble with Cotto's jab. Cotto would have trouble with Berto's speed.

I've said this before, but I think it would look a lot like the Judah fight.

I agree in the sense that Berto can easily be taken out of his gameplan. That's the #1 thing about Berto I realized. He tried slugging it out with Collazo when all he needed to do was back up and just pick him apart. If he does that with Cotto he'll get eaten alive.
