are they going to cash out on berto already???

seriously, a jump from collazo to cotto is a pretty big jump..

    I agree..it IS a big jump.. but WTF..Berto IS a beltholder too..

I think he showed a lot in the Collazo fight.. i'm not saying he'd beat Miguel but I def think he'd hold his own and their styles would make for a great fight..

Shame too, because outside of Cotto/Mosley 2, this is one of the best action fights we can have at WW.
but he is willing to make mayweather-pacquioa and williams-clottey? haymon has mayweather and clottey. shame that he used that as an excuse to block margarito-williams 2

And you gotta love Berto for challenging Cotto, that's a huge step up and shows he is willing to fight the best.
100 percent agree. and to the ppl who says he's not ready, who is he supposed to fight to get ready for this? he's fought every kind of opposition you can before you start fighting the top dogs. Collazo is a game opponent for anyone and he showed his heart and nearly stopped him in the 12th round.

He is what he is. Does he leave himself open for punches, sure, but what offensive fighter doesnt? Thats usually what happens when you like to engage first. Its exciting, and it will make for a great fight against a guy like Cotto.

[QUOTE=savorduhfalvor;4738268]DiBella is his promoter....isn't Haymon his manager?

Yea Haymon is his manager, but who knows they hate each other but they are good business people. Arum was mad at Paul Williams when he said that though, maybe he will deal with Berto if Berto is willing to take real short money or let Cotto dictate the terms of the contract.

It is a big obstacle to this fight happeaning though.

I agree it doesn't make sense, but Mayweather brings a ton of money. I'm sure Arum would be more willing to put his differences aside with Haymon for a lucrative Mayweather fight than for a high risk-low reward fight with Berto.

                If I were King...

Split site PPV with Mosley, Berto, Cotto, and Clottey in unification fights. From Staples and MSG.

I'm down with any unification fight. They are interesting all around.

berto is the fn WBC champ. that means he aint an up & comer, a prospect, or a contender. aint no such as he aint ready when he's a champ (regardless how he got the belt). he needs to be fighting the best period.
