Is Joe Calzaghe a top 50 ATG?

I agree... when you are talking throughout the entire history of boxing... all weights, Joe seems to just get lost... maybe in the 70's or 80's... but not top 50

Nope. he is top 100, but not top 50. his skill suggests top 50, but his resume, says top 100. he should be rank around 92 ATG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly what I was gonna say, saddens me when fighters have the skill but not the resume to back it up.

Marciano was never highly rated after he left the sport yet he pushes top 20 ATG all these years later. Marciano was always stuck in Joe Louis shadow, even after he beat him.

A lot of people dont even have Marciano in there top ten HWs, let alone top 20 ATG. I wouldnt have him in my top 20 ATG.
That said I dont think I would have Calzaghe top 50. Although I am too tired to try and come up with that list right now.

I disagree with people using Hopkins age as an excuse, he wasn't as good as he was at middleweight, but he was still a solid fighter. Calzaghe won, only problem is, he looked aweful - fight could have gone ether way. Calzaghe is good but not that good, I think Taylors win was more impressive than Zaghes.

Definitely not top 50, but perhaps 100. Hard to say, there have been such a large number of hall of fame-quality fighters in the past 100 years alone. It's much simpler to measure him as a British fighter, in which case he's definitely among the top 5, like it or not.
