Holloway Reflects on Fateful Margarito Sparring Session

again though, there is NO reason to use loaded gloves in sparring.
There is nothing on the line. If you get delt in sparring it doesn't change your record or your upcoming oppertunities at other fights.

im gonna make an assumption(ala everyone who's minds are already made up on the margarito issue for good or bad...) and say he most likely asked rashad holloway, who told him the thumb story trying to save face, and who has know changed his story to "i got hit with bricks" after the events involving margarito...

yeah i know, it is moronic to make claims without proof...............

This came from a third party, someone who gave me bad info. I used it informally, and waited until I got the official word from Holloway, which came back with this.

If you remember properly, that thread came about after the Margarito incident became news. Why would someone switch their stories?

I don't care either way if he did or didn't. If Margarito is found guilty, which he is still presumed innocent, then he should be punished severely. This sport is dangerous enough without having to worry about loaded hand wraps.

Rashad has been a very good friend of mine for years. Rashad doesn't make things up. Rashad told me that he felt like he was being hit by bricks right after it happened. Which was way before the fight. Before any of this came out. Rashad doesn't want to believe that any of this is true. Rashad gets along very well with Team Margarito. He's crushed that all of this is happening.
idk about the thumb thing. All I know is Rashad told me the same thing he told Sensational.
I've always liked Margarito. I wish all of this wasn't true.

Its very hard to believe that Margarito didnt use loaded wraps, when two respectable trainers in boxing saying otherwise. I really hope it's false though. Margarito is good for boxing.

margarito's honor is on the line. as a fan, im waiting for the result. if he is found guilty, i will take a 360-turn from him. and i will go for cotto in a rematch.

and what makes it unbelievable to use illegal wraps even in sparring? if one can use it in an actual fight when somebody is paid to oversee the wrapping, the more a fighter or his handlers can do it in sparring when nobody dares to watch the handwrapping. this is simple logic. that is to test how effective the weapon would be.

First of all. Have you ever put on a pair of boxing gloves yourself? Have you ever sparred anyone? I'm not talking about you playing around with your neighborhood friends. I mean real sparring. In a real gym. Preparing for a real fight? For real money? Ever?

Think about it. Totally putting aside who this is about. Think about if you're going to do something like load your gloves up, don't you think you should try them out before going into a real fight? Let alone a title fight?
As I've said here before I've known Rashad personally for years. He's not the type to make anything up. Especially since this is his livelihood, and he was getting paid to spar. Also he was very fond of Margarito, and his entire team. Rashad told me something wasn't right about all of this way before Margarito fought Mosley.
This is not new news. It's just new to you because there was finally an article on it.
