Holloway Reflects on Fateful Margarito Sparring Session

Not exactly common, but stranger things have happened. And if Margarito did, in fact, have loaded wraps it would make sense.

First of all. Have you ever put on a pair of boxing gloves yourself? Have you ever sparred anyone? I'm not talking about you playing around with your neighborhood friends. I mean real sparring. In a real gym. Preparing for a real fight? For real money? Ever?

Think about it. Totally putting aside who this is about. Think about if you're going to do something like load your gloves up, don't you think you should try them out before going into a real fight? Let alone a title fight?
As I've said here before I've known Rashad personally for years. He's not the type to make anything up. Especially since this is his livelihood, and he was getting paid to spar. Also he was very fond of Margarito, and his entire team. Rashad told me something wasn't right about all of this way before Margarito fought Mosley.
This is not new news. It's just new to you because there was finally an article on it.

Since you know Holloway personally and he told you he felt like he was hit with bricks way before all this came out then i would take your word for it.

I believe people are just coming out of the woodworks because of what they heard in the mosley fight but if rahaad holloway indeed tell you this before all this stuff came out then this doesnt look good for margarito.

I agree, but he has to try them out sometime. Seems like you would want to know how they felt on your hands before you took them into a title fight.

I made a thread about this some time after the fight, but I won't limit my speculation to Chavez... the descriptions boxers of the past have made from being hit by powerful punchers like they've never been hit before (comments like "it felt like being hit with rocks" I've encountered more than once has me questioning the possible ethics of even a few old greats). I'm glad something like this is coming to light in boxing, I've only been following seriously since about 2001 and loading wraps with plaster is something I've never heard before until the Margo controversy.

And at the very least if Team Margarito is found guilty, his purse for his last fight should be voided and and the fighter himself should see some prison time. I hope Rashad was not hit with loaded gloves in sparring. That is beyond unscrupulous. Almost blinding a man, and preventing him from making a living for himself? No that's not something I want to believe. I don't think it could go that far.

Wow, thats pretty shocking. Would of been sad if Holloway would of had to retire due to it. Starting to really belive there has been something fishy going on with Tony' Wraps now.

Margarito has no regard for other people's career. We used to make threads like this as jokes, looks they weren't jokes after all. The acts of these two are de****able they don't seem to care about anything but themselves. Just one more day, I hope they make an example out of these two.

IT could be possible if Tony's team wanted him to be comfortable with the loaded wraps. Might need to be used to something like that as supposed to just throwing the loaded wraps on after having sparred all camp without them.
