I respect you're opinion, I think the only "tricky"/"hard" fight for Calzaghe would have been the James Toney fight. Hopkins at the time was still a bit green in my opinion.

I love how bernard was green but roy wasnt... roy had one more professional fight than bernard when they fought.

As of right now, Andre Berto has more professional fights than Roy did when he fought Bernard.

Lets also not forget that after Bernard lost to Roy, he didnt lose again... for what, 12 years?

It WAS Jones who called out Joe. Watch the Tito fight (post-fight interview) and watch interviews from around that time. Jones worked himself into position for a top fight and Joe was his number one target. Why would I lie about something that's well known?


I'm not sure I believe everything I hear about the Miranda saga. Yes, Kessler is trying hard to get fights in the US. He personally visited the US and made offers to no less than 6 US fighters last year, and none of them took him up on it.

What can I say? Roy asked for a fight with Joe, and a fight is what he got. I don't blame Joe for taking it either. It was a massive payday and if he'd turned it down people would have said he was ducking Roy.

Roy wasn't absolute peak, no. Hopkins was still the greener of the two though and not a great fighter at that point.
