Ruiz managed to hit him flush on the chin? Toney managed to? I dont they did. LOL! Certainly not with there best shot amyway or Roy would have been asleep just like against Tarver and just like against Johnson. If they'd even manage to half catch him he's have been hurt like against Lou.
Some Roy Jones fans on here are simply....DELUDED

Why are you asking me? I never mentioned anything about Kessler giving Roy trouble. I said to Chunk that Kessler is a good fighter who doesn't deserve to be called a nobody. That's disrespectful. Kessler has skills. You gotta be blind or biased not to see this.Kessler beat Beyer for the titles, and bayer was so shot its unreal, Kessler is a good fighter, but when people start claiming he could give a prime roy jones a run for his money, thats a bit too far fetched imo, what has Kessler ever shown in his career to indicate he would be a danger to prime roy at 168?
Seems like people overrate Kessler on the basis of one fight against Calzaghe.
I was watching Kessler way before Calzaghe fought him, btw. I always thought he was a very good, solid fighter. Classy dude, too.

Putting words in my mouth once again i see LOL!Jones aint my hero at all, but yes you are making common sense.
1) Roy Jones only fought james toney because he knew in advance toney was gonna be weight drained enough so jones could win.
2) Mikkel Kessler is a danger to a prime roy jones at 168 pounds, because Kessler has beaten great fighters of Jones's calibre like Danilo Haussler.

I said it was no secret Toney was tight at the weight, he'd said so himself and even worked right through a closed training camp.
#2. Kessler would always have a chance aghainst a chinny fighter.Last edited by The Gunner; 02-08-2009, 03:09 PM.Comment

Listen, it's common knowledge that Kessler is trying to get out of his contract. It isn't his fault AT ALL that he gets matched up with less than stellar competition. Kessler has been trying like crazy to secure big fights, but who wants to give him a shot? Nobody does.
Let's not even get into naming the "bums" that Roy fought.
