Hearns would have KO'd Calzaghe. I think he would have been competitive with with them, but there is no way he could beat Leonard, Hagler or Hearns.

Hagler, Hearns, Leonard and Benn were all beatable. All were beaten. Let's just remember than when the usual braintrust say there's no way in hell that the current Ring SMW and LHW champion has no chance in beating them.

For my money, Calzaghe beats Benn all day long. Benn's power didn't really carry up to SMW anyway and he even got outboxed by Nicky Piper before pulling out the KO win. I'd have Calzaghe a very heavy favourite.

Leonard - too small IMO. Leonard isn't THAT much better that he could compensate for that.

Hagler - actually, I think he's rather ideal for Calzaghe. I'd be more comfortable saying Calzaghe beats Hagler than saying he beats Leonard or Hearns.

For me, Hearns is the main choice to beat Calzaghe. Was Hearns good enough at SMW to beat Calzaghe? Debatable.

This thread is really missing the point though. These guys all operated best in a lower weight class than Calzaghe. All of them.

As what i've said before u have to consult ur resources & use ur common sense & put logic on it...i have to start on this way, assuming they have to be match at their prime Joe's height 5'11", reach 73" while Leonard 5'10", reach 74" is this a great disparity/difference...why too small & isn't that much better to compensate for that...
as what i've said before, the great magic 4 fought w/ each other in a championship bout frm WW up to the SMW...Hearns 6'1" reach 78", Hagler 5'9.5" reach 75"....maybe u can start about it, or go for the skills, power, heart, talent, etc.

...i believe this physical stats info would bring help to others & could bring a more accurate analysis as basis...now maybe we could consider their talent, skills, power, etc....
