Nigel Benn is full of ****!! Joe Calzaghe would have never beaten Hagler! Never Ever!! Sugar Ray did the run and fight the last 30 seconds of every round to steal rounds. Hagler still should've won that fight. Hagler would've swallowed him up. He could box and punch and fight conventional and mix it up southpaw. Leonard would've beaten him too. Would've boxed his ears off and then tko'd him. Hearns had a weak chin but Calzaghe isn't a hard puncher. He's just very active and would've walked right into a right had that would've stretched him out. Duran at Middleweight could've given him a fight with a possibility of beating him and he's a natural lightweight. Joe Calzaghe came around in an era where there was no one in that weight division. He took on an aged Hopkins and Jones Jr that were way passed their primes. Everyone acts as if they were at the top of their game when he beat them. Joe has even convinced himself that they were still at the top of their game. haha!! He took on a young pup that was over hyped because of his physique in Lacey. Who else has he fought? Kessler is a decent fighter but anyone that gives him angles will beat him. The fact that Joe Calzaghe is better than average (not great) and came around at a time where there was old fighters or no one around isn't his fault. But lets not hype him up as if he was a legend that fought other legends and beat them all. I give him credit for staying motivated and being undefeated. That's hard work. I give credit to where credit is due. But lets not get carried away and ignore the facts.

I can't see how Calzhage beats a young Roy Jones, much less the three fighters whom were mentioned . I think he would match up well with Hearns. As for Duran and Leonard, in my humble opinion Leonard especially would have given him fits.

To take it one step further, I think Kessler at light heavy had a great shot of beating Calzhage. Anyway, we will never know. Happy Retirement Joe and he we can acknowledge without prejudice that he was great a fighter.
