So what ? Michael Grant was hyped as the next big thing by a majority of people, does that mean he was as good as the hype suggested ? Jeff Lacy was always decent with good punching power thats it, if fans actually watched his fights against Omar Sheika, Syd Vanderpool. Instead of just listening to the press how he was "The next Mike Tyson" then people would of realized he actually was never that good to begin with.

Come on dude, it's obvious they had never watched Jeff Lacy until he stepped in the ring with Joe. Every time I hear about Lacy someone's always mentioning how he was supposed to beat Joe but never pointing out any particular fight they watched where they came away impressed.

Joe Calzaghe has never been hit flush by a puncher so how can you say that ? but i remember him getting knocked down heavily by Kabary Salem who is no puncher. Are you honestly trying to tell me Thomas Hearns didn't have the power stop Joe Calzaghe ?

Just look at the fighters Thoams Hearns stopped and just look at the fighters, he outboxed fighters like Virgil Hill, Wilfred Benitez, Sugar Ray Leonard, ETC. Thomas Hearns doesn't have to have the power he could outbox Joe Calzaghe over 12 rounds.

Now your just insulting my intelligence, Roy Jones had power ? yea maybe in his prime when he took risks and his speed contributed to his power, but he couldn't even stop the mediocre Anthony Hanshaw, and a blown up Welterweight who had been inactive for a few years.

Roy Jones Jr's last stoppage win was in 2002 for crying out loud, and Jeff Lacy never layed a glove on Joe Calzaghe. If you honestly think thats any comparison to a prime Thomas Hearns who KO'ed James Shuler so badly, it looked like James Shuler was dead and had been shot with a ******* your insane.

I admit Mikkel Kessler is a decent puncher, but again nowhere near as powerful as Thomas Hearns. Mikkel Kessler couldn't stop Anthony Mundine who was stopped by Sven Ottke with one punch, which leads me to believe Mikkel Kessler doesn't hit as hard as people think. I rate his skills much higher than his power.

omg its like talking to a spastic what im saying here is in 20 years time ppl are gonna look back and say yeah one of the high points of his career was beating lacy all hype of not it was a better part to his record the fight with hokin may have been more significant in terms of today but in years to come ppl are gonna say yeah he defeated the undefeated hard hitting jeff lacy ppl will always say the same things about him been over rated which yeah mybe ha wes but you could say the same about ali forman ppl could say yeah forman was hype all power one trick pony but over time its not stopped ppl saying how sweet a victory it was for ali im not sayin the lacy fight was near as good but its simlar in the respect that when that happened plenty of ppl would have said forman was overrated to as he was hot fave to batter ali and didnt

Comparing Lacy to Foreman?

First of all, 20 years from now their going to look at Jeff Lacy's resume and realize he didn't beat anyone worth a damn. That's a FAR cry from George Foreman who KO'ed JOE ****ING FRAZIER for Godssake.
