I said at 135, Floyd is too quick and will defeat Duran on that alone. U said, I'm an idiot and duran destroys Floyd. I then said " who has Duran fought at 135who even close to Floyd's speed which makes u so sure. and u say Buchanon. Look SRL defeated Duran "No mas" on speed and boxing skill. if he had done that the 1st fight, there would have been no 2nd fight. Floyd would never lose to Duran. I was being nice when i said it would be close at 147.
the only past great to beat Floyd would be?

Floyd never fights the wrong fight, his focus and discipline and ring smarts is what sets him apart from SRL and Whitaker IMO. He has fought fighters with similar styles to duran, non with his pop and style, but Duran hasn't faced anybody with Floyd's at 135 anyway. If Floyd is quicker it isn't by much. And if Ray fought the wrong fight, whats to say Floyd wouldn't? You still haven't answered my question on who Floyd has fought that makes you think he could beat Duran, let alone the Robinson questions I asked. This makes you look like a nuthugger instead of an objective poster.
I missed the SRR questionComment

Floyd at 135 is faster than Leonard at 147. And I am talking baout fighting Duran not Leonard. i still would pick him over Leonard based off his ring smarts. Floyd Sr fought SRL well in his prime and Floyd Sr didn't have Floyd Jr offensive prowess.Comment

I'm sure you would, but ring smarts wouldn't help Floyd against Leonard. I don't doubt he could keep it competitive, but I believe Leonard beats him. Floyd has never faced anyone near Leonard's level at lightweight or welterweight.Comment

I agree, Mayweather is not a welter.
Mayweather's best weight is somewhere between 130-140. Hearns' is somewhere between 150-160
p4p Mayweather is better in every single compartment except power, but he is the smaller guy by a margin. There is no way he can do what needed to beat Hearns.Comment

Floyd was losing to "old" Oscar till DLH aqbandoned the jab, so its ridiculous to say he never fights the wrong fight. If that could happen what do you think prime versions of Leonard, Duran, Hearns and Whitaker are going to do to him?
Similiar styles, but none with his "pop and style"? You've contradicted yourself using the exact same word. But the fact is, Floyd hasn't fought anybody with Durans blend of speed, power, defense and ferocity. He has fought fighters with similar styles to duran, non with his pop and style, but Duran hasn't faced anybody with Floyd's at 135 anyway.
It can never be proved by either side, but I don't think Floyd has the punch to keep Duran from overwhelming him.
I missed the SRR question
You said something to the effect that Foyd would beat Robinson because Sugar had trouble with slick, defensive fighters. My question is, Since they would be fighting at 147, what slick, defensive fighter ever beat Ray Robinson at that weight for you to draw this conclussion?Comment

P4p maybe. But as is we can only compare them for a hypothetical fight at a weight (147) they both fought at. At that weight the only advantage I give Floyd is defense and a slight edge in speed. Tommy was a better body puncher, had a better jab, had avantages in reach and hieght and was an offensive juggernaut. Floyd was a 1 or 2 punch guy who hardly ever opened up at this weight.Comment

I didn't realize this till I checked it, but this was also Leonards first fight against a world ranked opponent and he still knocked him out. By the way, Floyd Jr's offensive prowess wasn't very impressive at 147. Leonard would batter him as champion vs champion.Comment
