I think it is generally agreed that Hearns would be among the most troubling opponents for Mayweather if Floyd were to fight against all the past welterweight greats.

There have been a couple of polls made about this match-up and Hearns has always gotten more votes.

Aaron Pryor comes to mind, what A+ fighters has Floyd beaten that would lead us to believe even previous greats couldnt beat him? He is hardly a legend...yet.

Sugar Ray, Hearns, and Pryor beat Floyd.

I think a lot of people look over the fact that Floyd's defensive style wouldn't work against guys like Pryor, Sugar Ray, or Hearns. Sugar Ray was the quintessential Welterweight fighter, fast, strong and relentless when he smelled blood. Floyd's never been put up against fighters of that caliber in this stage of his career which is why many people frown on his retirement.

But truthfully, I wouldn't even put Floyd in the same league as those guys (yet) because they fought a lot tougher fights win or lose.
