In general JLC boxing is severely underrated. The fact that BOTH Mayweather AND Casamayor had all sorts of trouble in outboxing a supposed crude mexican braweler should be a good indicator.

EDIT: PM me about the fight, I might have it but I need to check on an external HD

true Casa is often on the short end of close decisions.

I always think of Casa as a southpaw version of B-Hop. I'm probably the only one who sees it

Jose Luis Castillo reminds me of a lesser version of Julio Cesar Chavez, the way he bobs a weave he's way in. The way he goes to the body, and the way he picks his shots accurately like Julio Cesar Chavez.

Well its hardly suprising considering Jose Luis Castillo was a sparring partner for Julio Cesar Chavez. Also another thing i noticed regarding Jose Luis Castillo/Floyd Mayweather fight.

Is when Jose Luis Castillo bobs and weaves he doesn't throw punches, and that would throw Floyd Mayweather's rhythm off. Because he was always expecting Jose Luis Castillo to throw punches while he was bobbing a weaving, and that effected Floyd Mayweather's timing.

And plus Jose Luis Castillo would duck down and come up with his punches, another tactic which threw Floyd Mayweather off his game. Jose Luis Castillo also isn't as easy to hit as you would think, and he is pretty accurate with his punches aswell.

If he had a better chin he would be a helluva fighter imo.

I always thought Joel Casamayor had a pretty good chin, i mean how many times has he been knocked down in his prime ? and look at the fighters he was up against.

I always respected his skils a lot, it sucks that many ppl judge him for the fighter he is now as opposed to his prime.

Nope, I can totally see that. But I think Hopkins is greater because of his ability to look at the whole picture of the fight. Casamayor is as crafty as Hop, but not as great of a tactician IMO.
