Forget Carl Crotch... Nobody cares except for the usual suspects.

How does anybody fancy their chances against Froch? Too early for a title shot you think? I'd give Dirrell the stronger chance then Ward, but Carl should beat both and will help with the US exposure.
i know for a fact team froch don't want to face kessler next even tho they say do. dirrell could beat him imo. would be a good one tho.

Yes, I blame the networks even more than I blame Taylor, although the money Taylor was offered to fight Froch was still pretty reasonable. If the networks really wanted to stage the best fights, which they claim they do, they'd certainly not have scuppered a fight for the WBC belt against an exciting fighter in preference to a non-title fight against a fighter who is rated lower.

This is his first fight at Showtime I hear so apparently he's no longer on HBO. Or maybe they wouldn't take this fight. Either way, based on his track record and the situation he's in, I'm pretty sure he'll land a big name soon.
          I agree...

Yes I am disappointed that Taylor is not fighting Froch, but you could point the finger at any top SMW right now and rightly accuse them of not taking the biggest fights. Bute's camp wouldn't even consider Taylor, only to later offer Zuniga a fight. Kessler is stuck with a promoter who is trying to match him with Mads Larsen. Froch talks a big game but lucked into a paper belt and doesn't have the name recognition to negotiate on his terms on this side of the pond.

Taylor/Green is a decent SMW match up... not a great one... but if Taylor needs another confidence-builder after his two losses, then so be it. I really don't think he was developed properly before being thrown to the wolves against Hopkins and Wright, so more than anything right now he should be staying busy and hone his craft. We saw flashes of an experienced, veteran fighter against Lacy, so maybe tune-ups like this will make him a better fighter in the long run.

Again, not thrilled about this decision, but am happy enough to see his quickest turnaround (4 months) in a long time.

Of course Bute and Kessler are to blame as well. Kessler more so because at least he wasnt beaten to a pulp by the end of his last fight. I said it right after Froch won the belt. The SM division will be a pain in the ass to watch because all of the Champs live in different countries, and none of them are going to want to come out and unify. Someone's going to have to take a chance.

This is a hell of a matchup in my opinion. Allen Green does everything well and looks phenomenal doing it. But its easy to look good against C and B- level opposition. Taylor wins this one just because he's been fighting A level competiton for the last 4 years (not counting Lacy).

I'm not saying that Taylor-Green is a great fight. It's merely ok, but the only reason why Taylor-Froch is considered significantly better by anyone is because Froch won a vacant title belt in his last fight. The Taylor of 2008 beats either guy. I'd rather see Froch-Ward and then Taylor fight the winner.

Are Showtime or HBO any more likely to show interest in Froch-Ward than they did in Froch-Taylor? If not, would Ward be any more willing to travel and fight for Froch's title without their backing?

Nope. Taylor must take sole blame for this. He's the one who can pick and choose. Not any of the other.

He could have had Kessler or Winky on HBO or Froch likely on Showtime. Now he picks Green. If it wasn't so sad I'd roflmao.
