its very possible that Sal would have beaten JCC had he continued to mature as a fighter and if they fought at 130.

Sanchez wasnt flawless either though. he had a fairly tough time with a pretty green Azumah Nelson, and went to split decision with Pat Cowdell I believe. a very slow starter...although it didnt show up in the Wilfredo Gomez fight, which is his best performance. he was one of the best late round fighters Ive ever seen, which is amazing at his age and experience level.

I'm not going to say he's better than Chavez coz i really dont know, but in this decade, i believe he is the best one that ever came out of Mexico. He's the only Mexican that ever came close on beating Pacquiao twice. He has great skills and cold ass counter punching.

P.S. some of you guys on here are saying he DID beat Pacquiao TWICE, and maybe if it wasn't boxing and became a street brawl then in my opinion he did win those fights, but it's not. Agreed to disagree coz we all have our own opinion on this, but in PRO BOXING, Pacquiao DID beat him TWICE.

In pro boxing, he beat him ONCE. The first fight was a draw.

And don't give me that 'He should have gotten one extra point' ****, because if you knock a guy down three times in the first round, you shouldn't need to win by one point.

            DRAW.

A draw and a split decision win = one win and one draw. I know what you mean though, pro boxing is about $ and drawing power. Marquez didn't have the same drawing power as Pac and the promoters didn't have as much cash lined up for themselves in Marquez as they did Pac. I think Marquez would have needed to do a Mosley to Pac in order to win their second fight.

I'd say he's between #5 and #10 in the rankings of great Mexican fighters

if he beats Juan Diaz it'll be great for his resume, and then if he goes on to beat Nate Campbell and Valero/Guzman he'll have secured a great resume

i really wish he would get one last shot at Pacman so he can attempt to put an official win over him on his resume... But I believe boxing fans outside of the Philippines will remember what he did against Pac and give him his credit

Not sure if he can ever surpass Chavez though... He really would need another win over Pacman to be able to make that argument

ummm.. that's exactly why i said TWICE. I mean to be FAIR, Pacquiao should have taken that win. they made a mistake that can't be fixed anymore and that's the only reason why it's recorded as a draw. I mean, if they made a mistake on Marquez's scorecards that could have made him win, wouldn't you think it wasn't fair?

some say for fighting pac makes him great and you give credit from rolling in

canvas. what if pac and jmm didnt fight. jmm will be nothing.

while some hating and discrediting pac.

jmm needs pac to be heard.

                    pac doesnt need jmm.

                    poor jmm needs a rematch.

i hope there will be jmm v pac III.
