i've always thought jmm's speed is underrated. i think his surgeon-like precision and his intelligence is what kept him in the upper tier of boxers.. he has become more aggressive so casual fans are starting to recognize him

Currently, his resume doesn't allow such accolades. People are very accustomed to familiararity so placing JMM above Morales, Barrera and Chavez is almost blasphemy to most. Technically speaking, I feel he is the best Mexico has ever produced. Poor career decisions have delayed his rise to that mythical level that his counterparts have reached. If he beats Diaz and goes after Campbell as he has publicly stated and defeats him, he will have quite a resume.

      Casamayor
      Barrera
      Juarez
      Pacquiao
      Peden
      Sanchez
      Medina

Only a true biased hater would hate on that work.

unifying lightweight or grabbing a belt at jr. welter seals it for me.

Pac 2x. He beat Pac twice I don't care what anyone says, I've scored both fights multiple times and always had Marquez winning both.

Tell that to judges who only saw the straight left over and over and gave pac man rounds because of one lame ass punch.

                  Hmm…

Well balanced, and a vary impressive counter puncher.

If he can get past Diaz, and Nate…..that would make him legitimately the best current lightweight. I don’t see why he would not be among the top 5 Mexican boxers of all time.

However, its hard to dispute who exactly is the #1 Mexican boxer with just Lopez, Sanchez, and Chaves. Personal top 3 are the following:
                  Sanchez
                  Chavez
                  Lopez

                  The rest.

No, not better than Morales or Barrera either.
