Mikkel Kessler To Face Mads Larsen? Bute vs. Tsypko

WBA super middleweight champ Mikkel Kessler has, according to sporten.dk, through his lawyer, accepted to face Mads Larsen in an all-Danish fight. Larsen, who just turned down a fight against IBF ruler Lucian Bute, is said to have accepted through his agent to face Kessler with Team Palle promoting. However, Larsen is under promotional deal with Sauerland Event and CEO Chris Meyer says heīs heard nothing about a Kessler-Larsen fight. Meyer instead says the plan for Larsen was to have a tuneup on March 14 in Kiel and then perhaps fight the winner of EBU titleholder Karo Murat and challenger Cristian Sanavia - a fight that goes ahead February 28 in Neubrandenburg. Absolutely.

Andrade was to fight an eliminator against Tsypko. Andrade must be next in line. You might ask why Tsypko got the shot and not Andrade. The reason is that Tsypko is a Sauerland fighter and Sauerland has an option on Bute. The option was to be exercised by Larsen (another Sauerland fighter) getting the Bute shot. When Larsen failed to sign the contract Sauerland gave the shot to Tsypko.

Here's to hoping the sympathic Andrade gets a rematch soon.

Personally I'd rather have seen Larsen fight Bute. If he won a Kessler fight would be interesting outside Denmark too. The Larsen of today is not near the level he was before his comeback. He is even more cautios and his chin is suspect. He is in for a big surprise when he steps in the ring with Kessler (if he does). It'll be a gigantic step up in class.

As for Kessler fighting Johnson well team Johnson offered Kessler the petty sum of ― million dollars. Palle wanted 2 million. I'm certain that Kessler takes 3-4 million for fighting Larsen in a packed stadium. I'll BE THERE!!

no doubt, it would have been more interesting if Larsen had beaten Bute and could take a title with him to the Kessler fight. But no matter what it will be the biggest fight in Denmark! I wont miss it no matter what

Great. Kessler versus a fighter who, even in his prime, was decent at best. And hasn't had a significant win this decade, possibly ever.

And is that a mandatory they have lined up after this Something tells me that when Kessler's 35, he'll be claiming how everyone ducked him back then. Funny how history repeats itself.

I dont keep up with european boxing because as much because they dont come out with much talent besides fighters like Hatton and calzaghe.

Its a matter of time before haye gets KOed and Khan has been exposed already.
