WBA super middleweight champ Mikkel Kessler has, according to sporten.dk, through his lawyer, accepted to face Mads Larsen in an all-Danish fight. Larsen, who just turned down a fight against IBF ruler Lucian Bute, is said to have accepted through his agent to face Kessler with Team Palle promoting. However, Larsen is under promotional deal with Sauerland Event and CEO Chris Meyer says he´s heard nothing about a Kessler-Larsen fight. Meyer instead says the plan for Larsen was to have a tuneup on March 14 in Kiel and then perhaps fight the winner of EBU titleholder Karo Murat and challenger Cristian Sanavia - a fight that goes ahead February 28 in Neubrandenburg. However, Meyer does leave the door open for an offer from Palle. [details]

Kessler's being pathetic. He keeps claiming he wants to fight the best but he keeps fighting nobodies. He could fight Bute, Froch or Taylor if he wanted, but instead he calls out people he knows have no reason to fight him, and who aren't even at his own weight, like calling out Hopkins or Dawson to fight him at catch-weight, presumably so his more gullible fans will believe he wants big fights, when he doesn't - yet there are plenty of big fights that are genuinely on the table for him at Super-Middleweight and he's not interested in any of them. He's only interested in fighting nobodies. He's a good illustration of what's wrong with boxing - I've lost a lot of respect for him lately.Comment

This is a dissapointing fight for Kesslers international fans as we probably wont get it for a start and Larsen will be a pushover and just another notch on his (as of late) protected record.
As a Kessler fan im really sick of the bulls h i t!!
If its anounced hes fighting Mads then there will be at least a 3-4 month wiat for this fight and then if he finally fights someone decent like Taylor or even Froch (another pushover IMO) we probably wont see that till late in the year either...dissapointing news if ya ask me...f u c ken Tyson fought more often than this!!!Comment

kessler disappeared after fighting calzaghe. Kessler needs to fight the big boys in the division...hes not so bad.
BUTE IS A PIECE OF ****!!!! Bute got KTFO by andrade. He has to be taught a lesson, except the fight should take place somewhere far away from canada and far away from that di@# sucking referee whos name i will never say, HES a disgrace to any sport!
