I feel as tho Toney has fought more top fighters in a wider variety of weight classes so based on that I think he has a better, longer resume than Roy but Roy obviously had the more successful career overall.

Toney definitely took more chances and that's why hes my pick. If Roy would have made a stop at cruiser weight and won a title, then maybe i would choose him. I just don't think people realize that kind of opposition that Toney fought.

Toney has fought better opponents, clearly.

but Roy is the one who is going to have the better record. it took forever for him to legitimately lose, while Toney lost often because he lacked discipline and had lots of trouble with conditioning and weight loss...which has to count against him.

Well Toney beat Ruiz too (steriods aside and it woulda went down the same way either way) but he also fought Rahman and Peter twice. And Roy himself as you put Toney as one of Roys top opponents. I think clearly Toney has fought more top fighters and not to mention as another poster stated took far more chances.
