Floyd? fundemental??? LOL. Floyd relies much on his speed and shoots many right hand leads, IMO hes not a fundemental boxer. Hopkins is.

edit: dont get me wrong though, i think hes one of the best boxers, but not fundementally

      Danny Romero is another one.
Im not sure Winky and B-Hop would agree with u on the Tito thing!!

Does Ricardo Lopez qualify as this era? He was one of the best pure boxers I've seen.

Marquez also, I agree though Calderon is extremely fundamentally sound, he doesn't get enough recognition because of his size.

People dont pay attetion to him because he is in the lower weight classes and the fact that he is feather fisted!!!!!

pbf is one of the most exciting boxers to ever box thanks to his trash talking and people actually watching his fights just to see his perfect record go down. but he still wins. he reminds me of a young cassius clay when he used to be called the louisville lip. people liked to watch him fight when he was young and just a contender because he trashed talked so much with his perfect record that people went to see his fight just to see him get beat up but it didnt happen.

tim duncan can drop 50 points on you and still look sleepy after the game as he did during the pregame warmups.

pbf just keeps talking and talking and talking.

i mean im no hater and i would love to see pbf come out of retirement to fight pacquiao or a rematch with hatton but pbf isnt a humble guy like duncan.

This was my thought as well, and the clear choice if one extends the definition of "contemporary fighter" back a few years. The definition of textbook. Hopkins and Mayweather both utilize variations of the Philly shell to differing extents, which depending on the definition of textbook can be interpreted as unorthodox.

Exactly, watching Ricardo Lopez is like watching how to box 101, he was definitely a textbook boxer.
