I don't think he should be considered the best welterweight unless he beats Williams. Margarito's the lineal champion, so he's no.1 in that strict sense, but I don't think you can say he's the best welterweight. I think Williams would be narrow favourite to win if they met again, and I think the reason Margarito won't give Williams a rematch is that he doesn't feel confident he can beat him.

Williams got beat by Quintana...Quintana got beat well demolished and broken down by Cotto....Cotto got broken down by Marg.......Williams is now fighting at 154 and 160......= Marg best Welter Weight in the sport today.....Lefty

Margarito's size and chin would be to much for Pac too overcome. He would just crowd Pac and bully him into submision. I don't know what Pac is thinking but he should stay as far away from Margarito as possible.
