margarito has too short a memory. when delahoya decided to fight pacquiao, marg was fuming mad at oscar for fighting a man almost half his size.

now he is entertaining the idea of fighting pacquiao. i can't imagine him eating his words this early. margarito should fight williams or delahoya or any natural welterweight. pacquiao is too small for him.

though i belive pac has a good chance of giving him a hell of a fight.

Well first of all, I don't believe Manny was particularly known as a technical genius, he has flaws and always has had flaws, but he has improved a great amount over the years.

I don't think there are a lot of sluggers who can beat him. This is why I think he has a chance against Marg. It takes a slick fighter to beat (or come close to beating) Manny, as far as I've seen. Of course, I'm talking about Marquez who had incredibly close fights with him (Marquez is exceptional, IMO) and the great Erik Morales.

Margarito, as much as I like the guy, isn't technically brilliant. He is pretty slow, and if Cotto hadn't crumbled late in the fight he could probably have won against Margarito. He did come pretty close, he was out-boxing him for many of the rounds. It might only take that little bit more extra effort to beat him, and this is where will, determination, whatever you want to call it, comes in. We can't physically see these things, they exist in the heart and mind of the fighter. That little extra effort and mental strength may be the key to beating Margarito next time Cotto fights him. Let's not forget, Cotto wasn't exactly unconscious on the canvas, he quit of his own accord.

As I said, Pac could fail miserably. I accept that, but belief can go a hell of a long way. Boxing is 50% mental. If Pacquiao is mentally strong enough and prepares correctly, has the right game plan, I think he stands a good chance of being victorious.

Pac, as great and special as he is, would be one of the smaller fighters Tony has ever faced. Tony is in his prime, whereas DLH was well past it.

Exactly.. he's not even trying to avenge the loss.. but I have to disagree with you on one point.. I think Williams would KO Margarito in a rematch. He easily beat Margarito in the first fight.. rematch would expose Margarito.

Don't be so sure... a smaller man can whup a bigger mans ass with speed and skill. Yes Margarito is bigger, has a chin and stamina.. but he lacks boxing skills. Pac could nulllify the punching power with good footwork.. and as far as offense.. he would land all day on Margarito.. Margarito's only chance would be a KO. Just like Pavlik's only chance against Hopkins was a KO. What happened in that fight? If Margarito doesnt KO Pac then what? we already know Pac is going to land that straight left all night long.

The majority of Tonys opponents are better skilled and faster.

A reporter asked him a question he answered it and people are to lazy to use their brains and realize that this does not mean he's calling manny it just means he was answering a reporters question.
