Joe Louis had an amazing record

forget the titles defences, Ive never put that much stock in title defences because they can be deceiving very often, especially nowadays. but look at this. he beat
    -Jack Sharkey
    -Primo Carnera
    -Max Baer
    -James Braddock
    -Jersey Joe Walcott
    -Billy Conn(lightheavyweight)

and these are only the lineal champs he beat. and thats a huge number, especially considering Louis himself was the lineal heavyweight champ for almost 13 years straight. I mean, lets put it into perspective. look at our two best today.

Vitali Klitschko-0 wins over lineal champs
    Wladimir Klitschko-1 win over a lineal champ(Hasbeen Rocked'mon)

Louis is easily the number 2 or 1 heavyweight of all time, Jack Johnson doesnt come remotely close.

When it comes to opposition, I dont really care what the fighter(the opponent) achieved more so how good was he at the moment of the fight. Thats the only thing that matters, all these titles and title defences can be very deceiving about the real quality of the opponent.

I always fought Ali would have beaten Louis... Louis was pretty slow when throwing shots, can you see Ali getting caught? Ali was way quicker than Louis.

I don't know the whole story, but word on the streets is that they did him durty with his finances.

Joe Louis has to be the man. He was fighting during one of the most racist eras in American History.

Why is it that America only has race issues?
