Got to admit it was good to see a white american world class boxer coming into the ring with the flag behind him, i loved seeing thatAfrican Americans have a hard time being a draw
First I am not trying to be racial but this is a serious discussion. If you want to make a race wars please start your own thread.
African Americans have a great history in the sport of boxing. From Jack Johnson to Chad Dawson (newest superstar). If you look at Joe Louis for example he had a great following by his own people. He was a black man dominating in a very unstable time in American history racially.
The reasons they are not such draw as JCC Pacman Hatton because African Americans are not very patriotic people or even care about race. Pacman is the pride of the Philippines, I don’t think there is a pride of African American community since Holmes – Cooney. Mexicans, Pinoys,English and Europenas flock into the arena with flags and other nationalistic stuff. African Americans don’t have anything to rally behind if you get me. Black’s don’t have a great love for America and they would not just follow a fighter based on race.
People did follow Tyson but they did not brag about him. To get the attention they must be OUTSTANDING. I think Leonard was quite liked, but I am not speaking on experience.
Compare Pavlik’s following to RJJ/Hopkins/Toney. Pavlik would have more fans now then all these boxers put together. Example how Pavlik come into the fight with the American flag and Hopkins come into the fight with gangsta rap
Also the black’s boxers since Tyson really have an attitude problem. They cannot be liked. Their persona is horrible. They rude, loud mouthed and disrespectful, compare it to Pacman a loveable character. Also Blacks being low on socio-economic status doesn’t help. They also don’t have a rivalry with any other country. Like Ricans and Mexicans Pinoys have.
Thoughts
black fighters like hopkins and his gangsta rap bull****, i aint interested in any that ffs, the boys in hoods and his homies in the jail all love it, shame they cant get to the arena to support him eh
If black people acted down to earth like guys like hatton, calzaghe, pavlik klitschkos, then mayby more people would like them, instead they want to run their mouths off and talk ****, and bring all that gangsta rap bull**** into things.Comment

I know that descrimination exists. I grew up Mormon deep in the Protestant Bible Belt, was a Mormon missionary in Florida. I never said that it doesn't exist. I'm only saying that the world has no place for people playing the part of the victim. This world, and anyone in it, owes me nothing other than whats guaranteed by law. It doesn't matter if I've had it better... or worse than anyone else. As long as I act like I've had it no better or worse than anyone else... the color of my skin becomes irrelevant and race ceases to exist for me. Abolish the recognition of race... and you can't help but abolish racism.LOL..... Now back to reality.
People of all races succeed but that in no way means the people don't get discriminated against. Race and religion are still means by witch people show hate. That hate doesn't go away just because you said so. I can tell you first hand that this stuff still exist. Doesn't mean it hasn't gotten better over time but to dismiss it all together is a joke. To love your country is criticize it when you feel it is wrong. To challenge it to get better and fix its problem. Its not about being owed something as you say but people who have had negative experiences in there life tend to become cynical and jaded. Your reality may not be the same as someone else's.Comment

Thats how you see it. The problem is that there are people who look at skin color and religion. We have what we have today and thats what we have to live with. I am optomistic about things but I feel you also have to be realistic. Realistically speaking its difficult to ignore things that are brought to your attention on the regular.I know that descrimination exists.
