African Americans have a hard time being a draw

African Americans have a hard time being a draw

First I am not trying to be racial but this is a serious discussion. If you want to make a race wars please start your own thread.
African Americans have a great history in the sport of boxing. From Jack Johnson to Chad Dawson (newest superstar). If you look at Joe Louis for example he had a great following by his own people. He was a black man dominating in a very unstable time in American history racially.

The reasons they are not such draw as JCC Pacman Hatton because African Americans are not very patriotic people or even care about race. Pacman is the pride of the Philippines, I don’t think there is a pride of African American community since Holmes – Cooney. Mexicans, Pinoys,English and Europenas flock into the arena with flags and other nationalistic stuff. African Americans don’t have anything to rally behind if you get me. Black’s don’t have a great love for America and they would not just follow a fighter based on race.
People did follow Tyson but they did not brag about him. To get the attention they must be OUTSTANDING. I think Leonard was quite liked, but I am not speaking on experience.

Compare Pavlik’s following to RJJ/Hopkins/Toney. Pavlik would have more fans now then all these boxers put together. Example how Pavlik come into the fight with the American flag and Hopkins come into the fight with gangsta rap

Also the black’s boxers since Tyson really have an attitude problem. They cannot be liked. Their persona is horrible. They rude, loud mouthed and disrespectful, compare it to Pacman a loveable character. Also Blacks being low on socio-economic status doesn’t help. They also don’t have a rivalry with any other country. Like Ricans and Mexicans Pinoys have.

The numbers for the Hopkins Pavlik PPV were horrible,Pavlik didn't have a following before or after the loss..... Maybe on this forum but that is as far as it goes.

Are you serious? PPV accounts for hundreds of thousands of views sometimes millions...compare that to twenty thousand fans at a fight.

Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Ali, Tyson etc. were black superstars loved by the mainstream. They were superstars because they all had something Joe Average could relate to.

And they were known to the general public largely because they had fought on the big networks at a time where the alphabetsoup was not nearly as thick as it is today.

Boxing is about sticking to their own. And there are over 40+ Mexicans that supports their own.

Too bad boxers like Bradley and Williams isn't as recognized but overrated bums like Margarito and Juan Diaz is.

Bradley and Williams can easily disposed of them overrated bums. Wait, Williams already skooled that bum and a coward Margarito.

Margarito needs to take his tornado up 154+ because he been sticking around fight smaller fighters @ 147 in the 12+ years.
