If a guy can rehydrate and not have it affect his performance, then by all means, he's earned the right to fight at that weight.

Floyd fought guys who were bigger, since 2004.

And in that same time stretch, Manny fought much smaller men.


Plus, Floyd retired when his division was stacked with talent. He will never get to live this fact down.

Yea you make a great point floyd has fought against Bigger Men.. Manny despite being mayweather's size has fought against smaller men.. You can also make a point that Manny's best opposition is against past their prime fighters.. Besides David Diaz and Solis but who are they?

fact is he was in marg's division for 2-3 years. he was in cotto's division for a year or so.

if he didn't fight them because it was not good boxing business at the time then stick with that.

I find it hilarious how everyone is saying Manny is so much better than Floyd, yet everyone is also saying that Cotto-Pac can't take place because it's a huge mismatch. Those same dudes said that Floyd retired because he was scared of Cotto. The weight Floyd came in at his 154 fight is damn near the same weight Manny came in to his 130 fights, and at their 147 fights, their weight was identical on fight night.

So, I ask, if Manny is so much better than Floyd, why does Floyd's legacy suffer from not facing Cotto, but Manny should have no business fighting him? They are both the same size. The answer is something that I've said before: even the haters recognize Floyd's talent, and they are unaware of this. They demand him to do certain things, and at the same time, they say that fighters who they consider better than him should not be expected to do those same things. This glaring contradiction has always been pretty funny to me.
