I have noticed it with some posters, but it is the same same for other nationalities.

Look at it like this: I have nothing against JCC Junior, neither does anyone in the UK as far as I know. His fights are never shown here, he gets no attention in the UK or anything like that. But some posters on here are expected to pay PPV to see him fight, and some fans rate him highly. Because of this, some people on here dislike/insult JCC Jr.

It's the same with UK boxers over here. The British posters end up hearing more about them, seeing them on TV and in magazines a lot more than Americans do, and so they are more likely to get annoyed if they dislike the boxer in question.

To be honest we have two kind of british fans, The ones that really know the history of boxing dating back to the ted lewis days and the ones that just follow Ricky hatton, Most of us are sensible enough to know when a fighter from our shores is all hype but we also have fanatical fans (see some delusional hatton fans for that) who believe everything they read or see in the media about a certain fighter.

Because Calzaghe is Welsh and most people in the UK are English.

Some English have something against the Welsh.

Well no one likes people who **** sheep for fun...

that aside, The Brits recognise that most of our fighters aren't as good as the media or nuthuggers would like us to think.

Shame the Americans can't do likewise.

To be honest, the idea that Brits hate on their fighters is actually quite positive to me, because at least it would mean that blind nationalism isn't everything to the Brits. When nationalism is at the forefront, you create people like Wlad Owns, Xcaret and $in.

Alas, the idea that Brits don't nuthugg their own fighters isn't completely true, because you have freakass bitches like Ricky who have made a internet career and cultivated a online-persona based on that very thing.

I hate Slappy, dislike Hatton, like Froch, like Khan, love Haye. Alot of factors, some quite trivial and ridiculous, come into play when it comes to how I feel about a fighter.

              Nationalism isn't one of them.

This thread must be a joke.

I mean ive always thought im one of the ONLY British posters that is critical of British fighters...........one of the main reasons i do it is to balance up the argument. so other Boxing fans around the world dont think were all biased nuthuggers that overrate our fighters and only support our fighters because they are British.

Keyser Soze,T-97 and couple of others are in a minority that dont act like delusional Brit nuthuggers and are actual Boxing fans.

I'm not from the UK and just like what I like.

My favorite British fighter is Danny Williams, I mean honestly, can you think of a more entertaining heavyweight on this planet? I cannot, even though he not a very good fighter. He does give it his all though and that deserves respect. He does have enough power in him though to give almost any heavy some anxious moments.

I like Hatton, and always will win or lose. You will never meet a more honest and true badass. He will always try to hurt his opponent and beat them up bad. Best offensive footwork in the game people. I have watched this game for 35 years and have not noticed many fighters as good in cutting off the ring as him.

I like Amir Khan. His lack of whiskers will always make his fights have excitement. You will always wonder if his massive skill will overcome his opponent before they get to him.

Joe I am not a fan of even though I respect his massive skill. I think it is his personality that puts me off. He seems what I would call, too snooty.

                      My 2 cents
