My favorite British fighter is Danny Williams, I mean honestly, can you think of a more entertaining heavyweight on this planet? I cannot, even though he not a very good fighter. He does give it his all though and that deserves respect. He does have enough power in him though to give almost any heavy some anxious moments.

I like Hatton, and always will win or lose. You will never meet a more honest and true badass. He will always try to hurt his opponent and beat them up bad. Best offensive footwork in the game people. I have watched this game for 35 years and have not noticed many fighters as good in cutting off the ring as him.

I like Amir Khan. His lack of whiskers will always make his fights have excitement. You will always wonder if his massive skill will overcome his opponent before they get to him.

Joe I am not a fan of even though I respect his massive skill. I think it is his personality that puts me off. He seems what I would call, too snooty.

    My 2 cents

Yep, i worried for Hatton when they announced he would be fighting Floyd in a 20+ ft ring, because allthough Ricky has great offensive footwork Floyd has great defensive footwork so i worried that he would struggle to cut the ring off, but he had no problems at all. Ricky did get caught coming in, in a straight line, when he was Ko'ed, but that is another story more to do with the referees point deduction etc and Hatton throwing his game plan out the window after it.

Ive said this many times Cortez did not beat Hatton, but he got him KTFO imo.

Well Cortez did not give him any favors that is for sure. I think what got to Ricky was Floyd's defense more than anything. Once Ricky got inside he was greeted by a shell rolling defense and about 500 elbows!hehe

I think if he would have given himself a little more space and angles he would have fared better. He got angry though and started making more and more mistakes as the fight went on. He got taken out of his game plan. He should have just taken his spots, did some work and got out. Mix it up like Manny did against Oscar. His frustration got him tired and then Floyd capitalized on it.

        Yeah agreed

I think that is one of the only ways to fight a guy like Floyd Mayweather you have to pick your spots get your punches off then get out before you get countered. Sustained action is not the way to beat defensive fighters like Floyd. Allthough a lot of people have the false impression that is.

Exactly. If anyone is going to beat Floyd, they will have to give him a lot to think about and be unpredictable. The thing is, Ricky could have been the one that night, he just let it all get to him. Floyd was beatable that night and made some mistakes himself, but Ricky was just too overanxious.

i'm british and i hate Khan and Hatton... over-exposed cash cows... i just can't respect them as fighters

i'm not very nationalistic at all tbh, and i think boxers are representing themselves and fighting for themselves rather than their country as once you're in the ring it's just you... it's a sport played by individuals and boxers should be judged individually

Thanks for the Karma deanrw i would hit you back with some Karma but it says i need to spead it around before giving it to the same user etc. I respect your opinion on Boxing, because you actually know what you are talking about some guys on here just dont !!

Yeah, being unpredictable is a big factor if you wanna beat Floyd, because as we all know he likes to time people and he himself does not fight in rhythm which makes it easier for him to hit you but harder for you to find him. Its like i always say counter punchers like to punch inbetween your punches and if you are still standing their waiting for a receipt after you finish up your combo you are going to get hit/countered

I agree with you, you HAVE to step off after throwing and fight in spurts.

I'm from Britain, but i dont really care where they come from.

Lets face it, this day and age you have you fair share of frauds, but in Britain, they seem to be Pro's at ducking fighters.

Calzaghe is the biggest fraud here in Britain. The sad thing is the guy actually has talent. But pathetically wasted his career.

Hatton, has also had his fair share of ducking fighters such as Witter, but atleast he went Prime v Prime against Mayweather. He got KTFO mind, and probably went for the cash, but atleast it was Prime v Prime against an Excellent Boxer. Something Calzaghe has never done.
