I think that's what happened.
Face it pal, the match was dull, but he owned Valuev. like you said, watch Valuev's other fights...
Watch the Donald and Ruiz "fights".
Did Valuev not want to hurt them either?

It's an interesting theory. Valuev was definitely holding back. I just can't tell if it's because he just "didn't have" or not. I've seen Emaunuel Augustus deilberately hold back against Ray Olivera when Ray was obviously having some mental issues in the ring (which I think he just got frustrated and faked the issues). However, people are looking at Holyfield as a brittle piece of glass, who will shatter if tapped ever so lightly. One solid punch, and everyone expects Holyfield to collapse on the canvas with a brain bleed. The truth of the matter is... in small town shows accross the country (that never make it to Boxingscene) there are many guys fighting long into their 40s. Stacy Goodson has a guy in AR that still fights at 56 (circus act if you ask me). The truth is, more guys make it out of this sport ok than messed up. Geno McGahee of Ringside Report did at great article about a year ago where he found the overwhelming majority of lifelong injury or death has come to fighters who took punishing fights too young (late teens and early 20s) rather than in their twilight years. Early 30's is when boxers are considered at their peak, so Holyfield should think about hanging them up pretty damn soon... but he could still whip my ass in his sleep.

It's as if Valuev was holding back. Either cause he didn't wanna hurt Holy, or maybe corruption.
And Holy looked asleep too!!! As if he wanted to take advantage of Valuev's inactivity, and avoided poking this bear with a stick. Also, I'm sure he wanted to conserve his energy for the later rounds, but he must've lost count, cause he never pulled the trigger.
I heard the rematch title will be called 'Sedated'.

See for yourself. Download 'Fight'
Don't blame the judges...they fell asleep too.
